Yikes! How am I going to wash all those dishes and the utensils used to make Thanksgiving dinner? Three classic KitchenAids made short work of it!

And Last

But Not Least - The Last Load in the KDS-57. My guests were amazed. I don't know why. Everyone should have at least three dishwashers! (Classics of course, not those new things.)

Yay Fred, that is just fantastic, glad you had some good help there. That would have taken a full day to wash all those in my one new GE at two hours per load!! I am sure you had a great day, can't wait to talk to you and hear what your menu was.

At my previous house, I had the KDS18 and the KDS14. I found that the 14 was fabulous for actual dishes and glassware while the 18, with its larger racks and a water supply to the upper rack that could not be blocked by bowls, pans and such in the lower rack, was great for preparation and serving pieces as well as very tall stemware.

Speaking of cycle times, I have noticed that the new Maytags, even the supposed TOL, no longer offer the quick wash cycle. I do not understand why it takes two hours to wash and dry a load of dishes. Is it because they have to heat water supplied at 120F? If the water is hotter, does the cycle take less time? I remember some BOL GEs that heated during the wash as a matter of course, no thermostatic control, and the wash part of the cycle took something like 20 or 30 minutes.

Yes, Fred, your china with the design in the border is especially beautiful. Is it Hancock by Lenox? Thanks for sharing the pictures. Tom

The Kitchen Sink

Was in there Pete, did you miss it? I believe in washing everything in the dishwasher. There are two china patterns there. You were very close on one of them Tom, the gold and grey pattern is McKinley by Lenox, a sister pattern of Hancock from the Presidential series. The blue and gold pattern is a Havilland Limoges pattern that my late partner bought in London when he was there and the dollar was strong against the pound. I was a bit bent out of shape that he did not include me in the decision, but didn't complain once it arrived. I love using all the dishes, but have never had a chance to use them both at once. I still have a headache from all the stress of getting dinner for 23 out on time. Now to put the house back together.

and on top of all that

I am absolutely certain that the food was to die for as well!

Our Ida is the hostess with the mostest!

Just think, if you had 3 new dishwashers, you'd only have about half those dishes done by now!

Now That's Entertaining (and cleaning) with Style and Fl

And, having the right tools makes all the difference in the world. Oh Ida, what fun.

There's nothing more satisfying IMHO, than enjoying a day of housework with the proper tools and reveling in the end result--sparkling dishes, polished silver and fresh laundry... oh, and of course, freshly vacuumed carpets! Fantastic. I especially love the MINT KDI-14P and 906s. Ida, I'm pea green with envy. Call anytime you need an extra pair of hands. I can pack my uniform and be there in a jiffy.

Jet

Don't forget, you promised a visit. We'll cook up a storm then clean all the dishes. I have to show you my new Bernina sewing machine with the embroidery unit. I am sure you could give me some pointers!

Fred

Note: I understand that the photo of Hazel didn't appear in my last post, so I'm reposting. I thought some of you might enjoy the picture.

Of Course Michael

You are always welcome. Hazel looks fabulous, but you look better. I am thinking a January gathering is in order. A turkey would be great. Start packing your uniform now. We will have some sewing, cooking, vacuuming and great conversation!

Ida
