Have a great holiday everyone. I have a unique Thanksgiving spin to the pumpkin pie. While at a visit to the local Dairy Queen last week, they gave me a recipe for an ice cream pumpkin pie. Place 2 - 16 oz. Pimpkin Pie blizzards in an 8 inch graham cracker pie shell and freeze. Top with your favorite toppings and serve. Makes 6 servings. The recipe says you an use any Blizzard flavor for your special pie.

I have a Frigidaire dryer issue I'll bring up on another post.

A Very Happy Turkey Day to everyone

30 things you can get away with saying on Thanksgiving...

1) I didn't expect everyone to come.
2) If you tie the legs together it'll keep it moist.
3) What a terrific spread!
4) How long does it take once you stick it in?
5) You'll know it's ready when it pops up.
6) That's the biggest one I've ever seen!
7) Make sure you grease it up or it'll stick.
8) Warm your buns.
9) Is it juicy enough?
10) Is it big enough?
11) Is it hot enough?
12) Is it too thick?
13) Nuts anyone?
14) Where would you like me to sit?
15) Wipe your chin!
16) You'll get some when it's your turn.
17) Who gets the best piece?
18) I prefer breasts.
19) I prefer dark meat.
20) It's cool whip time!
21) Stuff it!
22) Whip it!
23) Beat it!
24) Butter it up!
25) Gobble it up!
26) I didn't think you could eat that much?
27) I don't do seconds.
28) I need to undo my pants.
29) Can you squeeze one more in?

and finally...

30) Don't play with your meat!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

In my family......

What made Grandma always blush was when I'd pull the turkey out of the oven, and she'd be hovering over it like a new born babe... I'd say: "... you better not touch my meat"

Happy Thanksgiving All.

Yes!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

I know that I have a lot to be grateful for this year. Every year, really, but a bit more aware of it this year.

For those of you who are hitting the road or the skies: Traveling Mercies!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

There are two turkeys in the ovens and 4-dozen dinner rolls rising as we speak. I'm responsible for bringing those and the gravy to dinner at my nephew's house in Minneapolis, tomorrow.

I always make turkey the day before so I don't have to deal with the carcass and whatnot on the day of the event. I cover the meat in juices, so when it's gently reheated in the oven, the house smells like turkey all over again.

Don't forget to catch The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC at 9:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time.

I'm thankful for my new nephew, Andrew Karl. We're having 9 for supper. And, I don't ever get to watch the Macy's parade as I'm in the Sanctuary Choir at church.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I hope all of you have a day of happiness, love, peace, fun, and delicious meals with your family and friends.

Just came back from dinner at my aunt's house. We had:

Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Boiled Potatoes
Corn
Peas
Cranberries
Brown 'N' Serve Rolls
Roast
Steamed Veggies
Pumpkin Pie
Cherry Pie
Lemon Meraingue Pie

At the end my aunt BobLoaded her Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher. I had no way to take pictures though. Just for reference, her dishwasher has the same body and outside of mine but the inside is colored Gray. The outside is colored white and has round, Gray buttons with Red indicator lights on the top. There is an additional "Sani-Rinse" option which my dishwasher does not have. It does not have a 2-number display to show remaining cycle time. It does have 5 indicator lights to show cycle status. They are Wash, Heat and Dry. The last two are Clean and Sanitized and they glow Green. She put it on a normal cycle with Sani-Rinse and I saw it finish and the Clean and Sanitize lights go on as we were heading out the door.

Happy Thanksgiving Indeed!

Joe and I just got back from our friends house... we brought the stuffing (Stove Top), green bean casserole, and fixins for mashed potatoes. Although we still had to do a bit of cooking, it was fabulous not having to touch a single dish!

I hope everyone's dishwashers are quietly (or loudly) whirring away by now!

Among all of the things I'm thankful for (family, friends, good health, a job, etc...) I am so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you... my "appliance family."
I look forward to coming to this site each and every day and reading, learning, smiling, laughing...
And of course, none of that would be at all possible if it weren't for Robert - the most fabulous webmaster in the world!

Happy Turkey day everyone!

Four KitchenAids full ran today, and this wasn't even th

We've rescheduled Thanksgiving for Saturday, but we spent the day doing a deep cleaning in the bar and living room. Part of this included pulling out all of the glasses, dishes, bowls, and flatware in both the kitchen and the bar and scrutinizing it all carefully.

All of the rust stains, odd spots, etc. were located and cleaned away as best we could. After the vinegar, Lime-Away, bleach, Comet, and Solvit, we ran everything through the KitchenAids and polished it all.

When I get a chance, I'll try to get some pictures of cupboards full of sparkling Corelle Living Ware and lots of glass.

The big meal is scheduled for Saturday.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a happy day, no matter how you spent it!

Awwwww Fred you are too sweet for words.

Neal and I went to his sisters today down in Rochester which is about a 1:15 drive. Had a great meal down there and I too didn't have to touch any dishes as well, lol.

Tomorrow we are headed up to the north shore of Lake Superior to stay at a gay run restort in Grand Marais which should be very fun.

Since I had to work yesterday, we went to my inlaws for dinner. So I made my turkey dinner today. So here's what was on the menu.
Honey brined turkey breast
Mashed potatoes
Succatash
rolls
dressing
Boston Cream Pie (not shown for dessert)
Coffee was sent up for later(fresh ground 8 o'clock)
