....Dixie must have continued some production under the Dixie brand, because I well remember Dixie gas ranges being available in the late '60s.
They were always in the lower-end independent furniture stores in Atlanta, like Carroll's. Carroll's had them in turquoise in '68, a full year after turquoise was gone everywhere else.
Teague furniture store in my hometown of Lenoir NC sold them into the 60s as well, along with Norge Philco and Magic Chef...all electric, unless you went to Piedmont Natural Gas or Steele Rulane Gas Service...you didnt see a gas stove.
After her first marriage ('79), my sister lived in an older mobile home, built in the late 60's. The range was a 30" Dixie in Avocado. It was pretty bare-bones.
