Harvest Gold Kenmore Set

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

S'gorgeous. Where is Auburn? (it would be CA. wouldn't it?)

Do any of you Kenmores have an idea what a money shot would look like? Would this machine have that weird Panty-Swirl agitator? I'm so tempted.

This is the "2nd generation": of the Kenmore 800 like my parents got in 1970.  this is like 1972 or 1973.  Super RotoSwirl;  the major differences are cosmetic--missing the medal handle on the lid and now the notched lid; the "auxiliary" knobs were now pointing to graphis on the control panel rather than mniaturized versoin of the big timer knob with the plastic little dial.  Electronic sensor dryer with 3 temps; Wrinkle Guard III.  3rd from LK.

Auburn

A (Harvest) Gold Country town about 45 miles north of Sacramento on I-80.

Handsome machines and nicely priced.  Too bad they didn't provide money shots.

Dan, they're calling you...

They're saying "Dan, come to the Kenmore side of the force. The neutral drain system wants you..." LOL!

A nice looking set at first blush but I'd want to see what sins lurk under their skirts...

Dan, they're calling you...

If I had an infinite amount of storage space, like Gordon does, I'd nab me a set or 2 of Lady K's with a Vari-flex agitator :)

"Is this a lighted control set?"

Yes it is....

1972-73 Kenmore Model 800 Set...

The first ones without the curved arched metal handles on the washer lid and dryer door. And the first ones with notched lid and door.

Like "Appnut" said.... #3 in the Kenmore line that year, and two steps below the Lady Kenmore set.

I had a washer like this which was a 1973 model - in Avocado, that was part of trailer full that were stollen from me a few years back. That is one of the machines I would have enjoyed tinkering with.

These are 800 models. Hard to say for sure just how many models under the Lady K this is - it depends how many were active when these were made. Sears had the 800 that was patterned after the '66 Lady K just below the Lady K, then several 800s from '69, '72 and '73 all at the same time that looked similar to this one.

I have a money shot from the machine I had - I'll find it in the archives and post it here, though this machine could have a Roto-Swirl OR a Vari-Flex, we'd have to see the model number for sure.

Full Featured Bliss

This is a great full featured set. And the fact that they are a SET makes it that much better. A prize for any club member.

It looks like the posting is down, I sure hope someone in the group got these and if so, I hope they post lots of pics. Our next door neighbor had this washer and I always loved sneaking into their garage when the machine was all lit up and running. Beautiful set!!

Detergent dispenser, yes.  One of the toggle switches on the panel is for Second Rinse, the other is for automatic advance from soak to Normal cycle (or soak only).

awesome

That is just spectacular, somebody should scoop these they look great all lit up,has the soap dispensor too.I sold a whole bunch of these back in the day heyhey.

Hawt Dayam!!  I'm thrilled Gordon!!!  The rendition that was what I grew up with was the POD on the 10th or 11th I believe.

KM 800 Pair

Congratulations Gordon, I always loved this pair, it did everything you needed a washer to do and quietly also. I have really good customer of mine that had this pair until just a few years ago in white, she finally replaced them about four years ago with a new KM DD washer and KM matching dryer.
