That's an orbital transmission agitator mounted on a pitman transmission. I'll pass on that.

The guy in the video changed the agitator from the original blue one, which mine has.
But the A482 is what I have.
Neverthe less, that is the way a good Maytag machine with the pittman was, and should be made today.

I wish dishwashers would do the same. I have a post on the whirlpool dishwasher pump updates. Needless to say, I hate the puny pumps they're using. They sound like toys. Their sprays are weak to begin with.

As long as they don't make us create an online account and allow the damn things to connect to the internet just to function, I don't care if there's an App, I just won't use it. If you don't set the account up, at least for now, it won't connect... though my car and truck both do software updates over the air. I had one pop up on the Volvo last week, and of course the "click to see release notes" thing didn't go anywhere... My existence is not so important that I need to be kept up to date by my washer or dryer. And I'll NEVER have a fridge with a damn camera system in it, so Wal-Mart or the CDC can buy access to see what I have in there...

I've said ever since Cordless home Phones were invented - ANYthing transmitted through the AIR is PRONE to RF interference and issues.
And that was before all the cellphones began hogging up the AIR.
That, and all the interference caused by home electronics radiating crap in homes.
I don't care for it at all.

I remember discovering by accident 30 years ago when the base somehow got unplugged that one could take a cordless phone and walk around the house with it on and listen to the conversation of others in the surrounding neighborhood. It made me realize how easy it's to tap into conversations for those using cordless devices.

Literally the exact same thing would happen to me in the mid to late 2000s except the base was plugged in and I wold be talking on the cordless as usual. Then all of a sudden I would hear the neighbor's conversation about meeting family at the airport. Then at the next place same thing would happen talking all of a sudden,one female voice "so yahhh ok so I heard this study where people are now going to live be like 200", second female voice "oh wow I'd feel like a robot after so much time" Then the conversation would turn into a deep preponderance about life itself. I was floored LOL.

If that can happen to a phone, imagine someone hacking a washer, possibly even destroying it from afar. Google the Aurora Vulnerability if you don't believe me.

ABSOLUTELY THIS SET.

The best ever made overall. 3 speed motor, multiple speed combinations, dual action agitator, ATC, warm rinse, and no wifi or complex inverters to fail. The timer is EM and driven by a synchronous across the line motor. The main motor is capacitor start, induction run and of course you've got the gearcase for agitation.
