what do people think to Daz products?, I'm using the regular powder and liquid and i think it does clean quite well and gets my whites very white even though i hate the adverts. I like the smell you get when u take ur clothes off the line washed in Daz, they have a really nice fresh smell. The liquid is equally as good as the powder too :)

I've noticed that they have brought out Daz Ocean burst and I wondered if anyone had tried it, it sounds good.

No, but it sounds appealing

I'm not sure if Daz is still available here in the states. This may be one of our vintage detergents that is no longer around. Wouldn't mind smelling that nice, fresh scent though. By the way, who makes Daz?

No but I will 'cos I have always had a 'soft spot' for Daz but its sickly sweet fragrance stopped me using it. I have always found it very good detergent and VFM but a bit harsh on coloureds and they no long do Daz Colour, which is a shame. I have a recollection of it being a blue powder many years ago, or was that OMO?

Detergent

Does anyone in the UK know a good inexpensive detergent that can be purchased in a large size? Has anyone tried the detergent sold by Lidel or Aldi? Many thanks.

Lidl W5 Active

Hi Jetamatic,
Yes Lidl W5 Active the Biological version in the green box is a great detergent, cleans well rinses well and has a light clean scent. I dont know about the colour or non bio variants I don't use non bio detergents.

If you can get access to a cash and carry, then buying 90 wash boxes of Persil or Ariel works out cheaper than buying them in the smaller pack sizes in the supermarket - I believe we get our 90 wash boxes of Persil for something like £12 from our local cash and carry whereas the 50 wash boxes cost £9 in the supermarket.

Hope this helps,

Jon

I have

I have tried, Aldis 2in1 Aloe vera powder, and I've used Lidls Maxitrat tablets (not impressed, they turned my whites green) and i've used maxitrat liquid and Lidl's W5 liquid in the big 3 litre bottles

haven't tried Lidls W5 powder which is 4 pounds something for a big box

Btw Daz is made by Proctor and Gamble

it comes in Powder liquid and tablets

I use the liquid and the powder which both are good

Daz Ocean Burst

Hi zanussi_lover,
I have not tried it yet but I will make a point of doing so. I always found Daz to be a great detergent. I adore the scent of Daz Liquid it reminds me of vintage Daz.

Hi cleanfresh,
Daz is a P&G product; it is marketed as a value brand and provides excellent cleaning performance at a reasonable price. In the UK Daz competes directly with Surf a Unilever product.

Daz Liquid

I like the smell too of Daz liquid, I love the bluey whiteness you get from daz, it works really well at 40 degrees. they have brought out daz ocean burst liquid too :D

Daz ocean burst is on offer at asda for £3 for a 2.85kg box

Hi zanussi_lover,
Thank you for the Asda advice.
I'm having a day off today so I might just go into town and get some.

I once used Lidl Non-bio as that was all there was in the house. It made the laundry smell wonderfully clean and fresh, like high suds Persil used to be in the 1970's. Unfortunately, it was not the best at stain removal.

from what I have heard is dumped into our oceans, especially in Los Angeles, I don't think I would want an out burst of ocean on my clothes.

They should add pictures of trash floating, used condoms, beer cans, cigarette butts, blotches of brown?
I'll keep that "freshness" for a special occasion.

lol

oh dear i wouldn't wanna smell of that ocean lol :D

ocean burst is mean't to be a clean scent :D
lol, Daz is quite an old brand, it was launched in 1953 :) and over the years has changed, Daz liquid was launched in 1987, and over the years has been cheep and good at getting whites white :)

i really wanna know what daz ocean burst is like, haven't tried it yet :)

I'm allergic to ariel biological powder, it makes me itch and the scent is repulsive, so daz is good for me :)

I'm a student so will be using this when i'm at uni :D

Thanks for the information. I am going to Lidl tomorrow to get some W5 and then next door to Asda to try the Daz Ocean Burst the price is right. It seems Asda also has Surf for only £1 per kilo, I am wondering if it is as good as Daz? Supect it may be.
Asda also has their own window cleaner for only 68p is was rated as very good by Which a few months back an dseems to work well for me.
I have been adding about half a cup of washing soda to my wash along with a reduced amount of detergent the washing soda softens the water and helps to remove grease. Sometimes I add white vineger instead of fabric softener, it breaks down any soap in the final rinse, brightens and refreshes the wash, also the dispenser drawer does not get all sticky as it can do with conditioner.

I would assume P&G's US equivalent was Duz (slogan: "Duz does everything for you.") There's a box on the Discuss-O-Mat control. It hasn't been around in decades, as far as I know. I'd like to try Daz sometime.

Surf in the US has a "Sparkling Ocean" fragrance, so the ocean must have positive connotations for most people. :)

Yeah, From the adverts i've seen was duz the washing powder advertising the clear water rinse that was clear enough you could drink it? or was that Dash?

I know they sell Dash in italy but is Dash the same as daz?

BTW Surf is good washing powder, i used the tropical one for about 6 months, very good cleaning and stain removal :) its very good for rinsing too :)
