Having a Big Blonde Electrolux Moment

I just got an AE with a color-coordinated fork-shaped plate gizmo (Hammertone Blue, of course) that is designed to hold all of the attachments for the vacuum on the machine itself. It's in perfect condition and has a large blue rubber loop, but can't exactly figure out the correct way to attach it to the machine. What seemed the intuitively right way--isn't. Does anyone have a diagram or a suggestion?

Do you have a picture of the caddy? The AE didn't have a caddy (believe me, I checked with Lux when I got an AF.) I believe that what you have is a caddy for the XXX or LX. Those are the machines that the "companion" went with.

I'll try to post a pic soon. I've seen the caddy (and, thank you, I forgot the right term for the thing) on the XXX and on the LX, but I don't remember how it was mounted and this caddy matches the AE perfectly. Because it came in the box with the other attachments (an ebay buy) I just assume it belongs to the AE.

Hi Baja!
The E only had the front clip for the dusting/upholstery brush. That was the only tool storage. The caddy that is metallic blue with the rubber strap was for the model LX. They must have stuck it in the box not knowing any better. Now you have to keep your eyes open for a mint model LX!
