Went into local Food Emporium (supermarket chain part of A&P) to use a rain check for 8 0'Clock coffee and noticed something different. The large 36 ounce bags are being replaced by 33 ounces. Yes sir down sizing has come to the brand and as always the price is *not* going down. You will still pay the same, just get less product.
FWIW A&P sold off the 8 0'Clock coffee brand awhile back, but haven't noticed any difference in quality, though some of my favourite roasts (Boka and Italian Dark Roast), are hard to find.
So lads, if you like this coffee, better stock up on the large size while you still get your money's worth.
For the record, Domino sugar has pulled the same stunt with their dark brown sugar. Went to purchase a box the week before Thanksgiving for baking and cooking and noticed the box looked "different". Sure enough, got it home and compared with the box already in my cupboard, the new dark brown sugar box is smaller and contains less.
Everyone is wondering where is inflation? Well here is part of the answer, everyone is shrinking products down so we get less, but the price is the same. Chicken pieces packs that once gave six, are now five for the same price.
