Since it seems many here in the group are in "Winter Cleaning" mode just wanted to pass along eBay is having free listing days from 9/19-9/22. This means they are waving listing fees and one only owes if an item sells. Mind you certain fees such as for reserve price or BIN may apply so read the details carefully if you decide to take the plunge.

Haven't bothered myself selling on fleaPay in ages but it tis getting rather crowded around here with items surplus to requirements, so......

Last week I listed a Krewel rug from one of the finest homes in Houston for the owner. I had a ton of options in the listing, multiple photos, zoom shots, backrounds, etc. and the listing fees came to $0.00. BTW, it didn't sell.

I know a few people who list things on Ebay for others. Almost everyone is saying that for the past two months people just really aren't buying. I wonder why?

Since I retired I ran a few auctions to get rid of some stuff in our house that was no longer needed. Most of it sold last spring. But since I have done that word has gotten out that "I do Ebay" and I've had quite a few calls from people asking me to list things for them.

eBay has been waiving listing fees for the first 50 items/month for a bit now. It's actually the new norm for them. Buy It Now, Picture Pack and several other options are also free right now. Maybe this is for waiving fees if you list more than the 50?

EBay Has Suffered Over The Years As They Are No Longer *The*

Between Craigslist and similar online classified and or auction/sale sites eBay's listings have fallen over the years. Sellers are also growing disenchanted with various "reforms" and or polices put into place by eBay and that includes their taking a larger taste, and being forced to use PayPal (who takes yet another taste).

Free listings tend to create allot of volume with often questionable goods. One has to wade through quite frankly tons of rubbish (why do persons list old beat up and mouldy containers for instance), to find anything interesting. For the seller it can and often does make it hard for one's listing to stand out in a crowd.

Quite honestly between stolen and or goods that have "fallen off a truck", large corporate vendors including overstock and resellers, and rubbish recyclers who list any and old stuff they haul out of the garbarge it's a wonder decent sellers move anything at all.
