Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Oh yeah huh! lol 1500 is still quite fast compared to a full size top loading washer. Even the Unimatics weren't that fast lol. Sorry Robert, I wasn't Frige-bashing!

According to the good book of Maytag...

The wash and spin motors are both 1/4hp. The wash speed is supposed to be 400rpm. The spin speed is... wait for it...

>>>2000RPM!!!<<<

Believe it. I own one and it'll spin a full load of jeans or towels out like nobody's business! To my knowledge, there are NO front loaders that can touch it. I could spin moisture out of a rock with it....

Sweet RCD! I'd like to see that in person though, just to see what it's like. Hell I'd like to see a Unimatic spin at 1140, since all I'm used to seeing is 525 on Kenmore & Whirlpools. I've seen videos of faster spins, but it's just not the same.

Maytag TTs

Are rather rare birds, and those who own them today often tend to "baby" their units, at least those who are interested having such machines around for awhile.

Spare parts are very difficult to find for these units, even more so new old stock. Hoover kept up production of it's twin tub units, in the UK long after Maytag gave up the ghost. Tend to think Hoover USA had much larger distribution network as even today bits or entire caches of NOS parts pop up.

I have one just like it!

Except I've only used it about 3 times since I had it. I'll gladly sell it for less than that auction to someone who wants to buy it. I am pretty hard up for cash these days, and my truck needs brake work.

Oh Bummer...

I'd like to get one for my dad in Chicago, but I'm not going to be there for about 2 weeks.

If anyone knows someone closer to Chicago who might be interested in selling one, please let me know.

South Pekin from my dad's house is about 181 miles, drivable but a long drive for my short time there. I think he'd like something like that because it's small and easy to move. We all know how Chicago can be in January...which is why I live in Phoenix.
