I just joined the forum after lurking for a bit and wanted to say hello to everybody.

I'm from Portland, Oregon, and I am interested in vintage appliances at large, including vintage automatic washers.

I have a limited amount of space and a tight budget, so i would like to collect a few items that I could also use as my primary appliances too (our house is late 1940's vintage and I would like to restore it with items from the 40's, 50's, and maybe 60's). I especially love Frigidaire Jet Action Washers!!! :-)

Maybe I can add more once I get the basement cleaned out and figure out how to get washer dryer hookups back down there again. Again, I have to be mindful of a budget.

Anyways, I ramble too much. Everyone take care, hope your Saturday is wonderful, and I will look forward to participating in the forums.

:-) Mike

Welcome to AW.ORG, Mike! Be sure to check out all the videos/TV commercials if you haven't already done that. There's certainly a lot to see/read here. You're part of a growing number of active members from the upper northwest.

hey

welcome mike..glad to have you here..youll love the site and in time meet many wonderful members..i know i have!....so here is a hello from st louis

Hey Mike.

Welcome!!!

I'm fairly new to the group myself -- just found it in June of 2005. It's a great bunch of people and lots of great ideas and old machines that run better than new ones. Hope you enjoy getting to know the group as much as I have. I'm in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Aw shucks....

It's nothing really compared to the other serious collectors on this site. Thanks for noticing Chris. I need to update my profile since I have added a couple more things to my collection.
As I told another member; it's time to stop for awhile as I'm running out of room. So why can't I stop looking all the time then??? Patrick

Here's a picture of my dream kitchen (minus the women of course!)

I hear ya. I LOVE that kitchen (minus the women...I don't think they work for free LOL and Mike wouldn't want them around either LOL).

I would LOVE to see a pic of your collection (or 1000...depending on how many you wanna take ;) )

Chris

I have meant to for some time take pictures of everything and upload it to the collections area but haven't gotten around to it yet. I will try and work on that this week. Sometimes I just need a little prodding to get moving! When I updated my profile I realized all the things I could mention but just left it to the major appliances. It'll be a little surprise to show some of the other things I have collected as well.

Thanks again for asking. Patrick

Here's a photo to give you a hint as to some of the other things I collect!

Hmm. I try collecting women too, but everytime I have one and I get another, it turns into a big mess :(

I recognize that photo!!!

It's off "This is a Recording" by Lily Tomlin...LOL. I have that on vinyl. (a hint of something else I collect)

Thanks to EVERYONE for the warm friendly welcomes. I'm still reading the posts and watching the videos and commercials, but I'll be back on soon! :-)

welcome!

...and a crisp, business-like good afternoon to you!!!! Big fan of Lily here. Private e-mail me and I will give you a link to a lot of Lily clips... I also collect Western Electric phones and I work for one of the "baby bells".
