You will enjoy meeting everyone on this wonderful Site and you will get a whole lot of help, when you get stuck with any projects that you might be working on. We all will give you suggestions about "How To" and alternate ideas, to get you through your tasks.

I've more recently had some great help with the Burner Igniter on my 18-year old Maytag Gas Stove, which I found out is actually a Re-Badged Magic Chef. I have never ever had any other problems, other than the first time that I set the Oven for Self-Clean, my Timer and Clock Knobs got melted down. I had a Service Call under Warrantee and was given some replacement Knobs. From then on whenever I need to Self-Clean the Oven, I set the Controls, get it going then remove the Knobs. I also move anything that is close by the sides of the Stove on the Counters, so nothing will get too hot, while the Cleaning Process is going on.

Good Luck with any and all Repairs that you might do and need help with.

Miele Immer Besser

Welcome Dennis! I love my W1918 and my W1986 washers. If you are like most of us, you are probably the only one in your whole school who is interested in appliances. Have you joined Das Waschmaschinen Forum? Members of that group might be able to help you add to your collection. If you are interested in older machines, you can learn a lot about them from advertisements in old magazines at larger libraries. Have fun and learn all you can.

Dennis, I do not know anything about the W700 series. Sorry. The W1918 has a 5 kg capacity and a top spin speed of 1600. It uses the older, longer cycle and rinses once before starting to spin then spins longer and faster between each of the next 3 high water level rinses. The W1986 has a 6 kg capacity and a top spin speed of 1200. It has the newer, shorter cycles. It spins thoroughly right after the wash and after each of the three high water level rinses. Both heat to a maximum of 190F. Both are on pedestals for better viewing.

I believe the W1918 is pretty similar to the W900 series. The W1986 model is a model that was especially made for the American market. It's 70cm deep and based on the smallest Miele commercial models aka the Little Giants.

The 1918A, which I have, heats "only" to 170F. But I find that is more than enough. In other respects it appears to be identical to the 1918.

I also have three W1065 Miele washers. Two are hooked up and work, the third is still awaiting a niche in the lineup.

Oh, and two dryers.

Don't draw overhasted conclusions! LOL! I said it was based on, I think they used the chassis of the commercial Miele's. And probably other parts as well that had a different size. The motor etc. will probably be the same as other household machines.

W1065

My first Miele was the W1065 which looked very much like the W770 because it had a white control panel instead of a brown one. We found her and the Creda EcoWash Supa Speed 1000 on the same night behind the same appliance store. Both came from abusive homes. The Creda needed new motor brushes which she has needed a couple more times over the years, but she still looks like new. Mona Miele had been used only with cold water and had a lot of mold in her. She also made funny buzzing and humming noises. John removed power from a few components and the noises stopped although there was always a funny noise from the motor. She worked beautifully for a couple of years before the spin portion of the motor died. Much as I loved her, a new motor was half the price of a whole new machine. I am glad that there are W1065 machines still alive.

Overhere in Europe the model number for the W1065 was W765 I think. Both with white and brown control panel had the same model number. It was a more deluxe model with three dials instead of two like the cheaper models had. My mother had a W423, the W765 was it's successor.
