hi guys have'nt posted for a while abaout a year in fact. Internet is down and problems with partner but thats life i suppose. Any way i was looking for advice on electrolux washer dryers i have the inspire time manager ewx1440w built in version and was wondering if it is possible to get one rinse and spin instead of three rinses and spin. as sometimes i handwash and would like to condition and spin seperately
by the way i love this washer its great, washes really well and the rinse is good too but the stepped spin is the best part of the cycle the best washing machine that ive ever had also the dryer is really really fast thankyou for listening and any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys. Electrolux Insight EWN14991W

Hello Ian,
I had an Electrolux Insight EWN14991W for a week last year (I returned it as it was not fitted with a drum light as was clearly stated in their sales literature). It only had the option of three rinses and fast spin and I could not find any method of selecting one rinse, I know this because I forgot to add fabric softener on a load and had to go through all three rinses again.

I don't know about your specific model but I would imagine the cycles are identical or almost so.

I liked the styling and build quality of the Insight but I found it rather poor at rinsing due to very low water levels during the rinse cycles. I bought a Miele W3985WPS which does have a drum light as advertised LOL. The Miele is also excellent at rinsing which is a must for me as I live in a very soft water area.

Sorry I cannot be of more help but hopefully someone will be able to assist you further, just be patient.

hi david thankyou for your input i think you are correct maybee i should get a hoover spinarinse for fun but nowhere to put it but it would be lots of fun i used to play with one that i stole from the dump when i was a kid lol thaks again ian.

Creda Debonair Autopump

Hi Ian,
You could try a Creda Debonair Autopump, I have one which I use to spin laundry washed in my Whirlpool Top Loader before I put it in the dryer. You can actually rinse in the Creda Debonair Autopump as the only holes in the drum are three rows at the top so the drum actually holds water till you close the lid and start to spin. It is fitted with a two pole induction motor which directly drives the spin drum and gives a 2800RPM spin speed, its also very quiet. I see them online around the £90 area, I got mine from Currys but I don't think the stock them now.

Something to bear in mind; the older brown trim Creda Debonair Autopump uses a carbon brush motor and belt drive and they cannot be used for rinsing.

Lux Laundry

Hi Ian, glad to hear you are enjoying the Lux washer dryer, do you use the Time Manager option often??

What type of handwash do you do, is it robust fabrics for convenience?? or delicates / handwash only etc??

When we went on the training course for these machines, everybody in the room commented on the NO rinse & spin, the only way to get round it is by selecting rinses with fast spin and then from the first rinse, stop, turn to O and select spin etc, a faff as you have to stand over it which rather defeats the term "Automatic"...

BUT, why not have more hands on washday fun and as the lads said get a spinner!!! very handy if you do a lot of handwashing etc...

1st thanks for more input david yes i could get a creda debonair but like i said i have no storage as i live in a 3rd floor rented flat and its limited i could get a little camping spinner do you know the type that i mean there are vids on you tube but dont know how to post links and stuff
ill consider it over the weekend and see Ian.

2nd hi mike yes i do use the time manager all the time either to extend or shorten wash times depending on the load and soil type and how quickly i need it done.or if i have all day then i would probarbly select longest cycle time and just wail for it. i always use xtra rinse on all cotton progs because my partner gets free laundry powder from work which is ariel hygiene and is quite hard for the machine to rinse even though i live in central london which is very hard water area .when i handwahs its usually things that are very non colourfast like a pair of white tracksuit bottoms with red stripes retro addidas stuff ,the colour bleeds on the stripes and i dont want pink gym clothes but i also have other hand wash stuff i just like washing what can i say i know im not alone when i say that on here lol thanks mike .IAN

Yes certainly I will post a couple of pics for you, its in a storage cupboard at the moment and I did not lift it out but the drum came out clear enough. It is a similar size to the SpinX available in North America.

The Creda Debonair Autopump is not a huge unit and is much smaller than a Hoover Spinarinse. Good luck in whatever you go for.

You're very welcome.
Yes the gravity drain model has the same drum, however the operating instructions for the gravity model state that it's not suitable for rinsing in. Apart from the electric pump in the Autopump model the gravity model seems identical. Maybe the risk of overflowing the water receptacle is the reason for not rinsing in the gravity model.

Hi Ian,
I see in your reply to Mike that you hand wash for fear of colour runs. I have a suggestion for you, your machine should have a 30°C Quick Wash cycle? If so that should be fine for washing your white tracksuit bottoms with red stripes and retro Adidas items. Use a good quality cool water detergent Ariel Excel Gel is amazing and get yourself a box of Colour Catcher sheets (See link below). The Quick Wash cycle with the Colour Catcher sheet should give you excellent results and the sheet will absorb any colour bleeding. If in doubt use a couple of Colour Catcher sheets they really do work.

Try colour detergents...

...like Ariel 'Colour Excel Gel', in a cool cycle.

As far as I know, previous 'Colour' detergents used 'dye-lock' ingredients, to prevent colour bleed. It is probably true of the latest incarnation too.

I had one of those creda spiners given to me by my brother as a gift that he found at one of his building sites fully working. It was fun to use but not really necessary owning a 1600rpm frontloader.

I used it a few times and sold it on to someone in need of it

I did use it to rinse aswell when i had some really stubborn detergent it helped no end!
