Contact Kitchenaid and don't be surprised if they reply with a message like "For God's sake please forgive us, we will never let that happen again, please go to our website and choose whatever model you prefer and we will send it at no cost for you, no matter if you KA mixer is 530 years old. As a compensation for the horrible distress, please also choose a toaster or a hand blender or an electric kettle or a stand mixer accessory and we will make sure you receive them in under 24 hours with a white glove service and the delivery driver will be Martha Stewart.
Actually, the after sales service for the stand mixers is probably the only thing that REALLY works well at KA. If it was whatever other product, they'd say "Well, it happened, not our problem, deal with it. That's all! Have a nice day, Bitch!"
Actually, it happened to me (my KA mixer started a clicking noise). I contacted KA and their very first reply was "a faulty KA mixer is unacceptable for us, please choose whatever model and we will send it at no cost for you. as a compensation for the inconvenience caused by a defective KA mixer, please accept a courtesy small appliance.[this post was last edited: 11/26/2019-02:24]
