I just keep rolling with the Flair threads....but it's important.

I need parts....or resources for parts. Every parts distributor has discontinued anything for the Flair.

I've searched the net and ebay for parts but come up empty-handed.

Two things I know I will need are: Oven Thermostat (the whole assembly including the sensor) and glass control panel.

The thermostat in my Flair had been removed, but the previous owners left it in the top. The wires have been disconnected. So I came to the conclusion that the thermostat was bad and the owners attempted to replace it. It's the original thermostat. It has a 1962 manufacture date.

Anyway, I was also wondering if there was a compatible thermostat from a 'standard' Frigidaire range from the same era or a new one that would hook up and perform the same.

Getting to the control panel. It had been broken by the previous owners. I need the panel for the 30" single oven CUSTOM IMPERIAL model. I included a picture of EXACTLY what I need.

Any help would be appreciated. Parts, links, anything....

Thanks!
Tim

Update

I think I may have found a thermostat.

Instead of looking up Frigidaire, I looked up Robertshaw thermostats. The company that made the one out of the Flair. I found one that appears identical.

Call Larry at Modern Parts in Parma, OH. 216-661-6966 He may have replacements for thermostats, etc. but I wouldn't hold my breath on that glass control panel from any source. Cosmetic parts are the hardest to find of any vintage appliance parts. I would imagine that unless they had a consistent problem with a particular model, most service companies & dealers would have to order parts like these direct from the factory. Time is not on our sides either, most service/dealers that might have saved these ranges or parts from them are disappearing fast. Diligence pays off though, ask everyone you talk to!

One thing you might do for the glass a long shot here. Since you have a photo of what it looks like is to find a sing shop that could paint you a new piece. I had this done for a jukebox.

Flair

My sister's 1965 condo has a single oven Flai with 4 electric burners. Thru the years, I used Ebay for one small burner and the broiler burner unit, Ebay usually had plenty of other parts listed or some reasonably priced oven for parts.
