I went down to my local parts place to place an order for an agitamer and they said they could no longer get them. I have several stuck agitators and really need one of these tools. Do any of you know where or how I could buy one?

Thanks,
Dave

All you need is the hand-made agitator remover...

which consist of a 27" bike inner tube and a $10 bike pump...thanks to (fltcoils). Check out thread #28159...it has pics and how to instructions.

My Agitamer has proven to be problematic on an ornery Maytag, there's not enough space to slip it under the agitator.

the only problem you'll have with the home-made agitator remover is the inner tube may burst...but, it will work.

You can buy an inner tube for about $6.00.

Hey Areuoneto, do you still have that avocado 1973-74 GE washer and dryer set?

Tom, I did ... which makes it even more difficult to get a grip on the thing for wrestling it under the agitator.  There was well-more of it ended up out than under that it wouldn't have been effective.  I have plenty other restoration projects awaiting, my CA906 got set aside for a [long] while but I will eventually get back on it.

Sure do. The dryer needed a new element gave it a tune up and is in use everyday(great Jean dryer) The washer on the other hand needs an outer tub,clutch/motor(on a sidenote I used the washer the way it was for about year until the motor gave out)It is going to be complete tear down it is out in my shop in a disaray the outter tub was so rusted, beyond repair. I have a parts machine that will make one. I will work in it this winter when the weather is crapy.
