Hi Everyone,

As I stated in a prev. posting, I'm new to AWO and I can't beleive that in a matter of about two weeks, I came accross someone in my area (Sacramento, CA) who is willing to sell me one of my favorite machines... a Frigidaire 1-18!!! I felt like a happy little puppy and peed myself when I found out. If I get this machine it would be my very first machine! And an excellent start to filling my 1000 sq garage!

BUT...part of the "ransom" is that I have to answer a TON of questions...some movie trivia, washing machine modle info etc. I will be eternally greatfull for any help. Thanks! James

What is the difference between a " WC " and a " WC-6 " ?

Model WC

Here is a picture of the control panel.
It has 4 wash rinse combinations, 2 speed choices,
infinite water level selector, and Permanent Press, Regular, and Knits cycle choices. It should also have a solid lid.

Model WC-6

Here is the control panel of a WC-6.
It has two separate knobs for wash temp and rinse temp.
A knob for the 2 speed choices, and a knob for the water
level. It has the same cycle selector choices as the WC.
This model is designated "CROWN" on the lower part of
the control panel and should have a glass window in the
lid.

I have a Model WC...boy do these sure seem to be common! While they're not the most TOL machines, they're interesting models and offer a permanent-press cooldown and "Sanitize" cycle.

Congratulations!!

Update!

Good Morning Everyone

Well I have an update...I was finally able to speak to the very kind and very funny seller last night. It's a harvest gold, WC-6 w/a window! Hopefully I will be able to borrow a friends truck in the next few days to go an pick it up. I could hardly sleep last night I was so excited! A very BIG thank you to Darrel for being so kind and generous. I have wanted one of these since I was about 7 or 8! So the LG Tromm will be going to the garage for now.
Thanks everyone for the help and well wishes-I'll let you know when I get it. (no pix to follow-I'm not what you would call a techno person so I wouldn't even know where to begin!)--James

I got it!

I'm in love! Got the 1-18 yesterday!! It's in excellent condition. I took the lid off, cleand all the hinges and screws and nuts, took the glass out and cleaned the seal and the chrome, washed and buffed the cab, took all the knobs off and washed....a couple of hours later and I was washing my first load!!
There are a couple of TINY marks on the top of the control panel but other than that, it looks almost brand new.
Thank you again Darrel...It was great to meet you, and see some of your stuff. Your too kind and too funny. I LOVE the westinghouse laundermat's.
Well, back to washing...anyone want to drop a few loads off, I'm running outa things to wash!---James

enjoy your machine! They are a lot of fun and you can wash tons of clothes at once. Hope you have the dryer to handel all that they can produce at once.
