HELP-stereo hookup question

I bought a set of Altec studio monitors when I bought my Harmon-Kardon equipment way back when-that was before subs were common-and chose them over the Klipsch because of the better bass response-they were teriffic!Used them till 96 when I went with the Klipsch Epics with sub-got the Lascalas about a year ago.The sound will absolutely pierce you-actually I understand it is too harsh for some people-especially on old music like I listen to.

Another note on the crossover adjust-when experimenting-try to set the sub crossover and level where it is "seamless" in going from the main speakers (La Scala)to the sub.You shouldn't notice a transition-just the lower bass output from your sub.It may take some experimentation and "trial and error" to get this.Then you will have a super sounding system.-You then may want to listen to movie soundtracks thru it as well as music!!
