hello friends, sorry for being inactive, but i had some exams

as i said, im getting a beko heatpump dryer on christmas for the good price of 364€ (cheap for a heatpump dryer of a 5 star rated brand, meanwhile bosch dryers are 1k € and dont dry well and tangle everything

now we have 2 slightly small problems

1 on the laundry room i have only one socket
2 due the laundry room being so small i am going to have to stack them and this is where the problem comes

delievery is 20€ but you need "a stacking kit" that is a piece of plastic that costs 40€, and no, im not paying such a rip off for a piece of plastic (price would go up to 404€ and nope)

is there any form of stacking both appliances without a stacking kit? btw for the socket im finding an electrician, as the one who did the installation for the old owners of the house the f****** dumba** didnt connected the main ground wire of the kitchen to the main ground connection of the house (and thats illegal)
im not very fussed about power consumption as heatpump dryers are known for low power consumption (beko uses only 900W and my AEG uses 2150W, both together use 3050W and the current an EU socket line supports is 16A or 3500W)

anyway, thats the job for the electrician

hope the delievery dont take too long, as winters here are so cold (2ºC outside at the moment and im drying clothes on the hanger)and drying clothes now its a nightmare (plus towels after 95ºC wash and line dry feel like sandpaper :(

and here there are some pics of it :)

As Yogi said...

I'd build a shelf that attaches to the wall. I'd make the bottom of the shelf at least an inch / 3 CM higher than the height of the washer. This way you can put the dryer on the shelf and be able to move the washer in and out if you need to without disturbing the dryer. Also, the dryer is less likely to shake when the washer is spinning.

Good luck

Stacking Frames

Weve got a Beko heatpump standing on top of an Ebac washing machine, similar to a Bosch in size & weight, the dryer has not moved an inch, its heavy and the rubber feet grip the washer worktop. A thin rubber mat sat under the dryer atop the washer may further help. Its never moved even during unbalanced spin, the dryer weight actually keeps the washer in check !!

Stacking Kit

Isn't there also the problem that certain stacking kits are only suitable for washers and dryers from the same manufacturer; eg. an AEG washer with an AEG dryer on top?

Thus an AEG washer and a Beko dryer might not fit together properly - or safely.

There are universal stacking kits available here in the NL, the cheapest one I added a picture of. Overhere the price is 15 euros. Don't know if they are available in Spain. What I don't like about them is that they use double sided tape to keep things in place. Other options are avaiable (for instance with a pull out shelf), but are more expensive.

You will be fine with no stacking kit. All of my vintage machines have been stacked without a kit, some with a rubber anti slip mat for kitchen drawers for added traction. Before that, I ran a miele washer and dryer for years stacked without a kit - as did my parents in their previous house. My latest set came with a stacking kit, however the dryer was no more or less stable than my previous set without and my main use for it was the storage drawer.

Of course your mileage may vary depending on the situation, but I have taken the chance and not had any movement at all.

Well, we're in May right now, and i dont have my dryer yet because we're going to refurbish our kitchen, we're going to remove one bathroom and Put there the washer and the dryer, so prob a stacking kit is not going to be needed, Will Update this when i get the dryer (honestly cant wait)

Hey! I don't want to steer you away from health and safety guidelines..... But...... I've had stacked washers and dryers without stacking kits for over 20 years..... Never had a problem, and actually have never even noticed the dryer move at all regardless of spin speed or out of balance spins.
