I have taken my wash outlet off a few times and put back on to my powerclean dishwasher, recently I noticed that a few of the whitish wiring threads inside the 8 screw holes that hold the wash pump outlet over the impeller had come out with the screws, and screws wouldn’t lock the cover back down when reinstalling it. Now obviously it dumps water all over the floor if you run it. I am totally unsure if I should get a new filter cover or what since only 3 or 4 of the holes have the threading missing. Any input would be appreciated please!!! This mean I have no dishwasher currently.

first of all...when re-inserting the screws, you should have backed them off to align them up with the original threads.....you may get away with it once of just jamming them in there and screwing down, but seems like you make have lost thread traction now....

I had the side of my UltraWash chamber split open....it affected wash performance as water was spraying out the side....

but should not cause water to come out of the machine.....

is water coming out from under the door.....or from the motor area?

If the cover is not tightly screwed in place at the front water can spray forward and come out under the door.

If the holes are stripped out you may be able to use slightly larger screws to clamp it in place.

When you are working with these Hi-Low thread screws designed for plastic you should do as Martin suggests and as you start to screw the screw in you should back up the screw a little so the screw can find the old threads in the plastic, otherwise you end up trying to cut new threads and just strip out the hole.

It was the three very front screws closest to the door, and when i took the spray arm off after it dumped water out the front above the access plate the pump outlet was slightly blown off with the gasket out of place at the front of it so I know that’s definitely the issue. The machine was running earlier no issue, until I went in there and replaced wash pump outlets and the threading had come out.

What size screws could I try fitting??? I’d like to not have to wait for a new screen filter cover.

I’m not too familiar with bolts and things if that nature, what’s the next size up from the T15 torx that it already takes? What sizes should I look for? T20 or do they have T16s or 17s?

alright Skip,

take the old screw down to the hardware store....and tell the guy behind the counter you need a screw with threads slightly bigger, as you stripped out the opening from the old one....he'll know what your talking about

does not have to be a Torx head, but they should be stainless screws as not to rust

you should probably replace all 8, chances are you may have stripped out the others as well...plus they will be matching....

once together, best advice is leave well enough alone.....it was working fine before you started changing all this stuff out, if it ain't broke, dont fix it!

Thanks, I am going to run up there soon and try to get this back up and running normally. I never have too many dishes, but until my dishwasher cannot be used they really start stackin quickly 😭🤣

I told myself a few times back when I was taking it apart to stop because I knew the threading would come out at some point, and I didn’t think anything of it when I went back in there recently.
