"These fridges go for $5,000 fully restored."

No, they don't. I've seen "modern vintage" reproductions that come close. I wonder if the seller's thinking of ranges.

But even if they did sell for that, your garage keg-erator doesn't automatically "earn" a fractional value of a restoration's price.

More like $150.

<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The best one I've seen so far is a Chambers model B in Florida. Pics show a below average stove, needs work The ad says it is complete but the burners, grates, and drip rings are missing, as is the service door handle. Bweh.. when will people realize that just because something is old, doesn't mean that it's worth a lot?

"These fridges go for $5,000 fully restored."

I've only seen a couple of fridges go for that kind of money: a Kelvinator Foodarama and a three door Monitortop. Otherwise, most professionally restored fridges sell for $1500-$3000.

Believe it or not...

I saw a 1956 Kelvinator Food-A-Rama in beautiful shape for sale on Denver CL a few months ago for, I think it was, $300!!!! ... I was almost tempted to rent a U-Haul and drive the 1800 miles on the spot!
