Go rent a truck and you might find him behind the counter with a nice smile. You won't need his truck if you rent one and just maybe, while you are talking about renting the truck, he will decide he needs to take you there in his truck to make sure everything is handled without strain, fits in and rides easy so that there is no damage. He might even have his own set of straps and blankets. With your new Maytags, you could offer to wash his blankets for him. As slow as that dryer is, if you put them in to dry after supper, it will be after bed time before they are dry so he might just as well stay and get a fresh start in the morning, maybe even an air start. Better yet, make the blankets a weekend project. You can find out if he has even the slightest interest in washing machines and if the answer is yes, you can see what shape agitator and motion are his favorites.
