Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

not far away either...

Freeport is about +/- 70 miles from here....they sure are beautiful machines!

These do look nice. The agitator/filter is a later replacement, the original probably broke in a service procedure. The dryer looks pretty good - at least the panel glass looks pretty good, not corroded by the pilot combustion products.

"We didn't hook the dryer up to a gas line only electricity, but there really is nothing to go wrong with a gas system, so it should be fine."

I'll bet their attorney would beg to differ with that statement!

Go for it Geoff

Geoff these are a little bit older than the set I have which you liked so much,Go and get them to compliment your wonderful Maytag collection. They have your name all over it!

Love that Turquoise!!

Geoff:

If you don't go for that gorgeous set, I'll have to come up there and shake some sense into you! LOL

They are really great. The starting bid is not unreasonable, but a bit odd. Did you see the matching colour GE Americana range? It also had an odd starting bid. I loved the way the upper oven was referred to as a toaster oven! LOL

Good luck, and hope to see these in your home soon!!

Venus :-)

One thing that commonly goes wrong with the old Maytag gas dryers is the pilot switch. They are NLA so it would be difficult to find one if it is bad on this one.
I would think twice before buying the dryer at that price without testing the burner.

Hi Guys ... thanks for the words of encouragement; I took them and placed a bid. I guess time will tell what will happen.

I wouldn't want Venus coming up here to shake some sense into me!! She'd have her work cut out for her!! :-)

I don't know where in my laundry room they would go, if I do win. I will have to get rid of the double tubs (horrors) and put in a single tub (Home Depot has them available with a cabinet ... 14 gallon). Does anyone know what the water capacity is on these machines?

Do you think this turquoise set will match my wringers? I think they will compliment each other splendidly.

Ooh Geoff!

I can't think of a couple of better companions for your beautiful wringers!! Good luck!!

Venus

P.S. Is the next wash-in at your place? ;-)

Thanks, Venus ... that suds saver would certainly give my Maytag wringers a little rest. They are "faithful" machines and not a one has given me any problems; but maybe that's because they are totally "babied". :-)

I would LOVE to do a wash-in; but only 3 people could fit in my laundry room at a time. DRATS!!

I've been thinking of building a new home for quite some time; maybe I need to stop thinking and start doing!! ;-)

Geoff, They would be fabulous in your collection! Good luck on your bid, and your wringers are gorgeous!

Geoff

We are pulling for ya! Please, get these machines if you can and please,.................. have a washin, it aint all that if only a few folks cant fit down in your laundry room. It is fun.
