OMG...Blast From The Past
Nice pics there guys...Blue certainly was Philips`s colour in the 70`s.... I love the sloping front of the earlier machine, looks so robust...The SlimStar toploader is the UK HN3156, 1000rpm, this had the side detergent dispenser..
I think the Philips machines of the 70`s / 80`s up to the Italian 090 series where by far the most stylish machines around and very functional, I could kick myself for not having kept all the sales documentation from then...
That kitchen has the AWM082 series washer , paired with the D186 dryer, these had the polypropylene tub, permag motor, both with 10yr guarantee..The drum was suspended on 4 large springs with 2 damper struts down below, allowed the tub to flex but was very sturdy during the spin as these spun with the tub full of water for an even distribution. The dishwasher was the Series X2000 with all polypropylene tub as well, very quiet, and the fridge freezer was the ARG 196...the bigger one that that was the ARG411..
I`m keeping my fingers crossed, Alpha Dave called around to say that a friend had moved into a house and the original machine was there, she asked "did he want it" he said NO "But I know a man who does"...lol..Dave said , "You`ll never guess what it is??" and he said a 70`s Philips with a "Silver Console"...OMG you`ll have to wait til next week, as I will!!
