hey how are you all doin, i am using a hotpoint wma46 at the moment and i am lookin to replace this washer with something better. so i am looking around to see wat i can find. i quite like the hotpoint Aqualtis and even the hotpoint BS1400 8.5kg Extendia Washing Machine... but i have had problems with indesit machines in the past, all the machine i look at use hardly no water. as my father has a rear skin condidtion is it better if i buy a washer with higher waster levels so i am searching for a machine with very high water levels.
can any body help me in my search i have looked at quite a few machines now but still have not found the right one. thanks

Hi.... the Hotpoint Aqualtis uses higher water levels than most machines (or at least noticeably higher) even without the extra rinse option selected...
As for reliability....i guess it remains to be seen if the new range from Merloni is any better than the last....

Go for the extendia mate It works like a dream with it's self cleaning dispensor drawer. Nearly all my family have hotpoints and the extendia tops the modern ones.

I have an Aqualtis and it really does seem to rinse well. Of course the Miele also uses high water levels that you can set by default. Miele is the best you can buy. They are of course not cheap but you can still pick one up for a decent price.

Richard - I've heard the Extendia is very quiet, is that true? Also is it stable? I considered it but it was a bit expensive.

It is is quiet even at 1400 spin, plus with 4 padels in the drum it will give better results. Like all hotpoints it is very stable and I like how the dispensor for softners etc sits neatly in the drum.

It is abit expensive but worth it, it's one of the best Hotpoints and the front plastic on the door may need cutting to get a good view.

Hiya - I believe the Extendia is also built to and guaranted for semi commercial quality like the Whirlpool Dreamspaces. I am pretty impressed at them from what I have seen, very robust machines, not at all plasticky like the normal 85x60cm machines. Huge drum too, with 4 paddles instead of 3.

I have to put a plug in for Miele though if you want good rinsing; no problems at all with mine, you can programme in high water levels as default and I've not had complaints even with biological detergent from my dad and sister who both have very sensitive skin.

BTW for a similar price of the Extendia, you can buy the Miele Allerwash which does 4 deep level rinses as standard, programmable up to five rinses as standard.

Great rinsings my priority. If you can't get hold of an old hoover logic like mine! lol just kiddin, for a modern machine i'd ave to say miele is a definate safebet, Zanussis arent terribly bad for their cost either.

I hear hotpoints aren't bad rinsers either, i havent experienced a current hotpoint to tell you if this is right or wrong.

Hoovers are good too when you select super rinse or "sensitive care" as their current machines state. they alternate filling and draining and do 5rinses so i've read.

i love the look of the hotpoint extendia, plus i went down to currys and i saw the new bosch (cant remember the model No.) washing machine working its very quite but the extendia looks alot bigger, john wrote in his thread, that there was some machines in the miele range that washed well could you tell me some more about which model it was lol. why do these modern day washing machines fill with a cup of water, i can remember wen the 80's machines would fill up 3/4 way up the door hotpoint(Liberator) but now it dont even touch the rubber door seal.. am i talking crap) any thanks for the information

Pay for palletline from Chelmsford to Leeds (apx £50, plus perhaps something for the new parts I've installed, and I'll send you a 28 year old Hotpoint Liberator! Have a fully functioning one in the garage and I'm moving house soon so it needs to go to a good home. Actually, I don't think it's a liberator because it ain't purple, but it's not far after. Anyway, on a serious note, welcome to the club Amar it's great to have you here. I could never in my life reccommend a modern day Hotpoint but that's based on my own bad experience.

Mieles spin really well between rinses and they rinse well too. I have only recently had much exposure to a Miele (my Mum got the BOL John Lewis exclusive one for £550 ish) and I just think they are fantastic. My Mum doesn't care less about washing (I advised her to get a Miele) but even she can't get over how brilliant and quiet her new machine is.
