YAY! Thank You!

You're right, even the toggle switches are the same type. Unlike my beautiful black pedestal control panel GE dryer that I got from Lawrence Pulltostart in Georgia, it has that unsightly door handle and would have no drum light, plus I, too, am up to my tuchis in GE dryers, but I do love GE dryers.

what you dry for 140 minutes ?

If the dryer had been modified to run off 120 rather than 220, then you'd need a timer that could be set for that long.

If you were in an apartment or other place with commercial electrical service and were limited to 208 volt service, you might need some of those longer drying times, too. While most loads would not need the full 140 minutes, some heavier things might and it is a convenience to be able to dry a load without resetting the timer. Consumer Reports down-rated the early Kenmore frog eye dryer that had a timer with 60 minutes maximum drying time. They said it was only recommended in the high speed 50 amp electrical installation or in the gas version with the 37K burner, because 60 minutes was not sufficient time to dry heavy loads.
