No, they are metal. 2 removable rings that you can adjust for the different types of cuttings you want to do. There is also a citrus cutter available.
I keep several around for parts, in case something happens to mine. I love mine and would not trade it for a mandoline (which I do have and have cut myself on many times-I am a dork).
