My name is Eddie and I'm the "new guy" around here. I've just about explored and navigated every page and then I looked at the Aberdeen Farm. Could someone tell me what that's all about ? And how it came to be ? or is it just a graveyard ? Thanks

Eddie,

Welcome to the club, and greetings from Rhode Island. We have several members from Massachusetts, so I'm sure you'll be making friends very soon.

The Aberdeen Farm was a dump site for appliances that used to exist. It's still fun to look at the pictures, though.

Welcome and have fun.

Ron

Welcome aboard Eddie

But what sad news about the Aberdeen Farm... I remember years ago when I was a brat, there was a place like that on the highway that leads from Montreal to the Vermont border. We'd pass it every week on the way to our country house and I always wanted to stop there and poke around.
Anyway, welcome aboard and if you are ever looking for anything specific, post it here and someone in the group is sure to be able to help you out!

Thank-you

Thank-you all for the warm welcome. My God, I have been just drifting down memory lane since I've been viewing all the Beautiful Machines all of you have restored. I always thought as a child there was something wrong with me , but I always have the facination of watching washers and dishwashers in cycle. It's so cool to meet you guys. Before moving to Cape Cod we used to summer up here. Our cottage did not have a waher because of the old cesspools. So I went to laundromats with my Mom and was facinated with all the different machines. The timers clicking and the various noises they make when changing cycles. I remember the Norge Timeline,SpeedQueens,Fridgedaires,Bendix,Philco Bendix,GE's, ABC,Maytags, pretty much all of them.
I hope during the winter I could pick up a couple of vintage machines. I found this website on YouTube watching that great video Robert put together. I can's seem to find it anymore on YouTube. (By the way Robert... That is one beautiful Laundry Room you have.) You have every machine I would love to have. The Kenmores with the Sud's Saver brings back memories of the first time I ever saw one in action when I was about 7 or 8 years old.
Anyway I am going to make a pilgrimage to New Jersey sometime this week to pick up a Mobile Maid that I was contacted by Ed and then Jim . That's so cool. Had one in the summer house here on the Cape. Can't wait to hear her run.
Thanks Guys and look forward to chattin' soon. Eddie
PS : I used to take a glass storm window when my Mom wasn't home and open the door of our Whirlpool Dishwasher, overide the safety with a screwdriver and watch her run. Really Cool.

Welcome from bongobro!

Hey, toploader--welcome to our laundry-lovin' family...you're gonna find some cool people here!

(how you managed to watch that dishwasher without flooding the kitchen or breakin' that storm window--that took real cojones, bro'!)

Enjoy!

Charlie
