I found this forum by accident when I was looking for info on older whirlpool washers, and I saw a PDF of interest. Unfortunately, the washer I'm looking for is older than the post I found but I had to join the forum to discover that, so here I am. I am look for a whirlpool washer I believe is from the mid 1990's? It was part of a series, and strangely at a used appliance store in Long Beach, I found an almost matching dryer, I also want to say there were several of the dryers on hand at that store. I WISH I WOULD have written it all down, taken a picture or anything because the washers they are making now are horrible! My 5 year old Maytag is on it's SECOND CRUMBLED LID ALREADY! The first time I had the lid replaced it was less than 3 years old and the second lid only lasted 2 more years. Some of the parts in this machine had a 10 year warranty, but the lids barely last at all (the repair guy that replaced the first one warned me!) and replacing the lid IS MORE than finding a good old school vintage washer, in fact the lid replacement cost was about 65% of retail for washer new, NOT DOING IT AGAIN! My fancy $1000 washer that my late significant other purchased us died after about 7 years in 2020. HOWEVER-I still have my 1990 Kenmore dryer-and it works just fine! I WISH I STILL HAD the matching washer we got rid of when we bought the first fancy one! However, my late aunt's washer was a Whirlpool and it WORKED GREAT! Everything I'm reading say those whirlpools are really really good-so I'm on the hunt for one. NO ELECTRONICS -there were no electronics! So that's why I've landed here. If anyone has a great older washer with NO ELECTRONICS they want to get rid of in the Southern NV area, please feel free to send me details. I have a truck and I can come get it.
