HI, I have just got a Hotpoint twin tub supermatic 9404

Hi,

I have just rediscovered the twin tub that I remember my nan using! I do wet felting and after months of struggling with my automatic I now have complete control using this twin tub.

My 9404 heats up brilliantly but I don't think the control is working properly as the dial doesn't rotate back to 'wash'. I am just using a thermometer and starting it when it is at the correct temperature. Is this an easy fix I could attempt?

Advice from any other twin tub user would be really appreciated.

Sounds like a UK model. Hopefully the UK members are able to chime in and help on your Hotpoint Twin Tub.

Welcome to AW and the Hotpoint Spiraclean club , without the plug in turn both dials to full ie 12 mins on the timer and boil on the thermostat . Leave a few mins then gently fully turn to OFF position , see if that works like a re set .

Thank you. After much use the cone on the wash side has stopped rotating. The motor is working when I select wash. The spinner is working but the cone on the wash side doesn't rotate and water doesn't come out of the top?

Any help is much appreciated.
