Hi, I wasn't sure where else to post this, but my name is Vern, I'm a new member to your fabulous site! I came across it by accident trying to do some research on how the first agitator was invented and how washers have evolved over the years. I must say this has to be the most detailed and interesting site I've found. Lots of great pictures and videos of vintage machines. I myself don't have a collection at all yet, but hope to someday. I've been fascinated by washing machines as far back as I can remember. I look forward to chatting with some of you and learning more about the top loading automatic washer lol. Thanks for creating such a fun site, I hope someday I'll have some pictures and videos of my own to post. Thanks again, and hope to chat soon!

Welcome....

Not only are we nice, but we are from all over the world...so you get lots of information and differing opinions on most topics....

Welcome Vern:

What part of Calif do you live in? I'm in the North/Western part and as everyone else so far have written back to you, this is a great Site, with great people and lots of info. The info not only covers Washers & Dryers, but other Kitchen Appliances, including Major and Small Appliances as well.

Enjoy yourself, keep Posting and feel free to reply, whenever you feel you have some info to share with others about Repairs, etc.

Peace, Kind Regards and Welcome again, Steve

Welcome Vern, so glad that you found us. You are going to really enjoy this site and the fantastic people that visit here!!!

Welcome Vern

Depending on where you are in CA, you'll have no trouble finding yourself a collection! One of the great things about this site is that other members post things they have found for sale in their area. Another great thing is the wealth of information that members have accumulated through experience - If you ever wonder "has anyone ever been able to do that?" check here because chances are, someone has!
Have fun!

Yes, Welcome Vern!

Yes I would have to agree, you should have little to no trouble finding yourself a collection! The Appliance Gods have been smiling upon us here in the last month or so, allowing many of us to find our Dream Machines or something very close!

I am in the Los Angeles area and just two weeks ago I stumbled across a phenomenal 1962 Maytag set AND tomorrow I'm picking up a 1974 Lady Kenmore washer! My suggestion is search Craig's List 2 or 3 times a week, this is where I have found that majority of my machines.

I am still fine tuning my collection, but this is most of what I have so far and I have ONLY been doing this since December!!!

Always room for one more at the table!

Welcome! Don't have a collection yet, huh? Well, we'll take care of THAT for you... What part of California?

PS You're killing me with those Maytags, Kevin!

Welcome! I'll try to get a full cycle vid of that Lady Kenmore as soon as I get a new pump... anyone have a 4 port laying around that they dont' want?

I agree with Kevin, it's not that hard to start a collection.. I'm a novice too, and already have some very cool machines.

Welcome

Everyone is right you will enjoy this site for sure. I know I do. There are so many nice people on here from around the world.
