The video was awesome Mark!

Sequence did not work on my HE3T. Wish it would. What a great cycle.

Seems like it would? Someone out there might know a secret sequence....

So for you guys that it's not working......When you push extra rinse 4 times......Just a random thought........ instead of pushing extra rinse 4 times try pushing prewash 4 times. I know for those machines that don't have a prewash cycle (like mine) I always replaced it with extra rinse and it worked for the c:00 diagnostic. So I'm thinking that perhaps if your machine is equipped with prewash, maybe try that instead of extra rinse and see what happens. Can't hurt

I am working on trying to get the clean cycle on my HE3t, but in the process I remembered how to start the sales demo.

1. Press drain/spin (turns on power too)
2. Change spin to "no spin"
3. Press "Prewash, Water Temp, Prewash, Water Temp" (quickly)
4. "Sd" shows in the display, and the demo starts

It adds no water, but you can see all the motions. A cradle wash, regular wash, then steps though different spin speeds. It stops and unlocks at the end. I remember the model in Sears was filled with soft, light balls that showed off the actions nicely.

Mark,

I can't get my washer to do a clean cycle. When you ge a chance, could you post a pic of your control panel, or list the options. I wonder if settings different than yours, but in the same position ( like 2nd light from the bottom ) would work for me. If I remember correctly, the Kenmore has a few extra choices, like extra low spin and tap cold wash temp.

Thanks, Joe

I did a search and found out how to get the cycle to work on my He4t. The steps are as follows.

1. Select Rinse/Spin
2. Select Low spin speed
3. Select warm/cold temperature
4. Select 2nd rinse option
5. Press End of cycle signal button 4 times within 5 seconds to start the cycle

The water filled to just below the door level. I was amazed at how quickly the drum rotated which really sloshed the water around. The cycle took 45 minutes.

Gary Cool that you found it on yours.
Along with Joe it did not work on the HE3T.
I will keep searching....

I'm almost tempted to use it for washing my clothes!

The dedicated Clean Washer cycle on my Maytag does a sensing cycle at the beginning and if it senses anything in the drum it stops the program.

Cool! Yes, it is 45 min's on mine too. You got it to work. I suspected there would be a somewhat different sequence for some machines.

I will post a pic of my control panel

Matt! You have the TOL model that WP made the same time frame mind was made. Mine is one step down from yours. I can't imagine that there isn't some kind of sequence for yours. I bet it's a slightly different sequence we haven't figured out yet

Where are the modern day Whirlpool Geniuses that always know everything tech?
You see them posting here and there....
I guess they don't know these machines all too well?

:)

My Frigidaire Gallery front loader didn't have a cleaning cycle either, but I never really had a problem with odors or mold/mildew. Once I month I did a cleaning cycle using super heavy, hot wash, using either bleach or automatic dishwasher detergent.

My WP Cabrio has a cleaning cycle, would love to able to see that cycle in action, but I don't have the model with the window lid :-( I use the cleaning cycle once a month with bleach. Do the washer cleaners like Afresh really do anything? The manual for the Cabrio says to use bleach.
