Hidden Clean Washer Cycle in Older Duets

Thank you for the pics, Mark. I will try to get my HE3t to do a clean cycle, but at this point, I am not optimistic I will figure out how.
Similar but different.....
Here is a sot of my controls, looks like I have a few more options then Mark has. I mostly only use the basic Normal cycle.

Matt! You have the TOL model that WP made the same time frame mind was made. Mine is one step down from yours. I can't imagine that there isn't some kind of sequence for yours. I bet it's a slightly different sequence we haven't figured out yet
My He4t also does the sensing bit at the beginning of the cycle and if it detects anything inside it won't go through the cycle.

Mark, I have to agree. I've tried any number of combinations but had no luck. It's gotta be there somewhere....

My Frigidaire Gallery front loader didn't have a cleaning cycle either, but I never really had a problem with odors or mold/mildew. Once I month I did a cleaning cycle using super heavy, hot wash, using either bleach or automatic dishwasher detergent.
My WP Cabrio has a cleaning cycle, would love to able to see that cycle in action, but I don't have the model with the window lid :-( I use the cleaning cycle once a month with bleach. Do the washer cleaners like Afresh really do anything? The manual for the Cabrio says to use bleach.

I don't know. I just used a little bleach. But I'm sure you could use Cascade powder or citric acid or even vinegar. My washer has always smelled fresh and clean and I've never used the clean washer cycle because, until a few days ago, I didn't even know I had it. But even as clean as my washer was, down in the rubber boot where water barely gets you will sometimes get hair and some kind of a film, not really bio film, but more like slightly dried dirt between 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock areas. And this cycle complete takes care of that. There is so much water action that you would do no better spraying a high pressure garden hose in those crevices of the rubber boot AND the entire glass from top to bottom gets cleaned off. It's also really cool to watch : D

Affresh does a good job. When finished it leaves the washer with a nice citrisy smell. I don't know if it does better than bleach or not, my washer suggests either for this cycle.

I never had problems with odors when I had my front loader. I always wiped out the boot, never shut the door completely, didn't use liquid fabric softeners either. Haven't had any odor problems with my wP Cabrio either
It is fun to watch that cleaning cycle video. I wish my Cabrio had the see through lid. I would like to see the cleaning cycle on a Cabrio.

I've never had odor problems with my HE4t either. I keep the door slightly open and the detergent drawer open also.

Gary, I did that with the detergent drawer on my Frigidaire Gallery, sometimes I would take the drawer out completely and turn in upside down on a towel.
On my Fridgemore, all I do is leave my detergent drawer pulled out a bit and leave the door slightly ajar. I odn't even wipe down the boot. I have no odor and I use fabric softner in every load!! I use powder 99% of the time.

I never had a single problem with odors when I had my Frigidaire Gallery front loader, I did use fabric softener every once in a while too. I guess it's all in the way you take care of the machine. I used powder detergent Sears Ultra Plus most of the time.
I use both powder and liquid detergent and always use softener too.

me i only use liquid detergent and i never had any problems with my washer and its very rare i use fabric softner with my washer if i use some its the dryer sheets kind that i am using.

I am at a complete *LOSS* as to why my machine is special.
I don't get why this isn't working on other machines

It has to be doing some good, especially under the boot area where the water never gets in regular washes and that area is hard to clean by hand. I used to microwave water to boiling and get rubber gloves and a rag and wipe all under it occasionally to clean some of the dried fuzzy sort of a skim that develops under there. This cycle gets all of that. : D

Man, I'm stumped. I've tried every combo I can think of and nothing. I would think it would be something simple as in Mark's post, all the option lights are lined up. I wonder if it's the sequence? I tried with the cycles that Mark does not have, nothing.

When was your machine manufactured? Mine says Oct 2004. If yours was manufactured Around or After that, I would think that it's on there somewhere. It must be the sequence, but I think that the sequence would at lease be similar. Like instead of extra rinse, end of cycle signal or prewash.
Or maybe instead of rinse/spin it's another cycle.
Who knows.
I guess ultimately it's NO big deal. But it would be nice to figure out what the H!! the sequence is IF it exists.

My serial is CSR 1801546 so that would make it April 26 to May 2 of 2004.
Just out of curiosity, does the sequence you set the controls make a difference? I've been digging through everything I can think of trying to figure this out, it's more of a challenge than anything else, I got to believe it's there buried somewhere. Oh well someday....

I'm trying to think and I did choose the options in order.....the first time, I'm not so sure I did the second time. I'm thinking that doesn't matter but it might. Your machine is 5 months older than mine

If you go to the whirpool site and do a PDF search (I searched for ghw9250, ghw9300 and ghw9400) and it brings up all the model PDF's within those model #'s. There are several in each one. And in some of the PDF's, it gives the exact sequence in "washer care", and some of the model PDF's it doesn't have that at all. You would think if it's NOT in your manual, that it wouldn't work for your machine, but it IS NOT in my manual that came with my machine, yet it works. Here's a screen shot. Obviously it's the same sequence no matter what model Duet HT you have, so if it's not working with yours, I don't think it's going to work

I got one of these free today and ran this tub clean. This thing is so bad the suds are pouring out the vent! :/ I'm now on the 3rd clean tub and it's still coming out the vent. Now I know why they told me it didn't wash good.
