She'd be very good

as Secretary of State, though I had hoped for a Supreme Court appointment for her.

She's highly intelligent, has seen more of the world than "outside her window," knows America's government.......

I firmly believe that competence, as well as any payback, will be happening in this administration.

And this is all I intend to say!

I believe some "back-room" deal was made with Hillary to get her to bow-out and let Obama take the nomination. I suspect that would include not only paying off the campaign debt, but something like a Supreme Court nomination.
I am relieved to see Obama assembling such powerful and experienced people to form his cabinet and so quickly!

Secretary of State would be a good appointment for her,and us.

I don't think she has the legal background to be a Supreme Court Justice, only law school and the Senate and she never ajudicated anything in her life. Most Supreme Court justices come from district courts, with experience as a judge.

Supreme Court would be a way to get her out of the way forever, if Obama wants to. Supreme Court justices are lifetime jobs, but I don't think it is the best use of her talent, nor do I think she is qualified.

I think Senator Clinton would be Fabulous for Sec. of State. Could she still get nominated as a candidate for the Supreme Court? Forgive my spelling, I think that Rahm Emanuelle as C. of S. Rocks, I hope he gets many opportunities to speak :-)

On Halloween someone at our party suggested Supreme Court for Hillary and that gave us all at the table a little pause. Hmmm . . . interesting--don't Bogart that joint!

I was thinking since the convention that Hillary could end up heading the State Department. They have to be careful who they pick if they happen to already hold an elective office, as that could impact the veto-proof majority the Dems are working on assembling.

The Obama campaign was so phenomenally executed that I have no doubt that work has been finished on a list of new cabinet candidates for quite some time already.

She is MORE qualified than many on there.

And have NO DOUBT that a deal has already been made. I am also sure she would do her best at any job.

Given her past primary interest as first lady, I thought she'd be a good pick for Secretary of Health, Education, Welfare. Or whatever that is these days.

If Al Franken doesn't make the Minnesota Senate, Obama should make him Secretary of State. He'll leave all those stuffed shirt diplomats laughing instead of making war.

After all, he's good enough, he's smart enough, and gosh darn people like him.

Secretary of Defense? Bill Ayers. He's the one who would actually know how to bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran. Fight fire with fire!

Not To Derail This Santa Evita , Sorry, Hillary Clinton Trai

First, there is much about the Clintons that the general public does not know. In general they are not very well liked in AK, nor in a few other quarters as well. Why do you think the woman, despite her strong early showings, was shoved aside for Obama?

Next, in terms of NY politics, if Mrs. Clinton leaves the senate, there is an end to that. Her only option would be to run against Obama in 2012 or 2015, or simply retire into the woodwork. Perhaps become a lobby person or whatever, but doubt if the NY Democratic party would welcome the woman packing up her carpet bag yet again and arriving on their doorsteps.

As for being head of department of state, Mr. Obama should be careful what he wishes for. The Clintons do NOTHING that is not in their own self interests. The woman (and her husband), would have to be kept on a very tight lead. Otherwise it just may turn out to be laying the ground work for her second try at the White House.

Many are saying Mrs. Clinton would decline the offer, as it would mean opening up her and Mr.Clinton's books to scrutiny. It is standard proceedure and the results are public. Things such as contributions to various causes and such founded by either of the pair, as well as tax returns.

The only response I have is that the Bushs' are not well liked in many states outside of Texas, and as for acting in one's self interest, please, lets not even go to the oil thing or the hiring of Halburtron to handle the war in Iraq, without any bids, Mr. Cheney's ex CEO ship.
Oil may be the grease that runs the economy but that is changing, and the Bush people are filthy rich because of it. Countless lives have been lost in a war that that Bush lied to us about, so while the Clintons may not be well liked in Arkansas, The Bush peorple are hated around the world for thier deciet and lies to the Americans and the rest of the world, and that is WHY WE HAD A LANDSLIDE ELECTION and record voter turnout. ANYTHING BUT BUSH, OR ANOTHER Lying Republican that represents big business that screws the American Taxpayer!

I want Ms. Albright back.

Now that was a woman who knew how to fight for truth, justice and the (real) American way!

But I'd settle for Hillary. I don't think anyone in the Islamic world doubts for one second that she meant it when she said Iran would be a pile of glowing ashes 20 minutes after Israel was attacked by them...you need that mentality to deal with the Islamic culture.

The only drawback I can see is Bill and all his international relations. Er, experience in international relations.
Er...
