Heard the first "wakening clocks" went off at a universally-agreeed time at 4:00 AM...

I swore that when I retired, I would never set an alarm clock again, especially for the many years mine went off right around that time every morning.

I’ll second that thought Tim! An alarm clock going off is one of the WORST sounds in the world.
