I made a sizeable haul of great Hobart/KitchenAid machines yesterday.

The best are: KDS20 Dishwasher and the scarce 2-door compactor. Also picked up a pair of KUDA22 and a KUDS23.

Wanted to share a few pics of the 18" compactor (one I've been hunting for years!). I *think* the model is something like KUC18...can't recall at the moment...and I've yet to locate the model tag on the machine.

More pics will be loaded asap. For now, you can see what I've loaded if you use the GOTO# menu on my photo album. New pics start with #31

I've removed the gawdawful 70s oak panels from the compactor and am about to do the same to the KDS20. Both these machines still have factory plastic protective tape over the aluminum and chrome trim/frame pieces. Removing them makes me feel like a kid who just got brand new toys :D Compactor looks WAY better in its white enamel...but I am either going to cut some black panels for it or maybe a nice satin chrome set.

A few shots of the KDS20

I'll do a better job after I've made some space to properly light and photograph. It's a little crowded in here with 4 KA's in the way...last pic is obviously one of the KA Architect series Superbas (KUDS23)

Compactor model is KCS-100C

Found it on the wiring diagram....was hunting for the typical Hobart label as you'd find in one of their Dishwashers.

Like Mick Jagger says...

"I want to paint it black". Here's my quick makeover on the Hobart compactor. It's temporary--just some thick gloss/wipeable dry erase poster material cut to fit until I can paint some proper metal panels. A little before and after shot below:
