SUDS SAVER TUB
It looks like a Suds saver tub, to be used with suds return
on older Kenmore, Whirlpool and Maytag washers, the wash water was stored in tub, rinse water went down fill tube over drain and wash water was sucked back into machine and reused, lots of country people had them

IIRC, it has been mentioned that Homart is a Sears branding.

That is indeed a tub for storing wash water when using a suds-saver. We have one also and ours is a "Suds Tub" brand, made in Des Moines, IA.
