Hey everyone. I don't post too often on here. Mostly just a lurker but I am a huge Maytag collector. Been working on making a tiny Maytag washer out of wood and just finished it this morning. Thought I would share a few pics with everyone. Only thing left is I've got to figure out how to make an agitator for it .

Looks like a percolator basket for the tub...A+ for ingenuity and cleverness. Barbie's gonna want one for her fine washables.

Thank you goat farmer. Yeah those yellow Maytag's and the pink ones in the background should look very familiar to you. I have added them to my show room and they have a good forever home now.

I have never tried to make anything else. But I'm sure I could make pretty much any washer if I sat down and spent enough time on it. I am just mostly a Maytag man so that was my first project .

COOL!!!!!Like this-very clever and what talent required to build this model.Any plans for a functional miniature one?Like the coffee machine basket-it even has the shaft for an agitator!

Thank you. Never had any plans to make one that actually function. But I am planning to make a matching dryer for it soon. I've always wanted a model of one of those older Maytag's but they don't make them at least I've never been able to find one. So I just decided I would have to make one myself .

Excellent work

You're quite clever to put in such detail.

If you start getting orders you may have to consider sheet plastic for the tub. I'm sure craft and hobby stores have an answer for making a custom cylinder. The holes may have to be done with a roller (with black ink/paint). I believe there are rollers for polka dots IIRC. But it's been a while.

keep up the great work!

That looks pretty neat! I wish I could make a life-size one for my daughter to play with while she is in that stage--and I'm looking forward to you making the dryer for it, too...

(Will that be an HOH-LFIB, or a newer Big Door-LFUF one?)

WOWZERS!!

That is too cool and so cute!
I LOVE IT:
The coffee filter basket, the nut knob, everything!
That is so creative! Thank you for sharing your mini-maytag with us.

You know, I've thought about doing something like this for a BARBIE-sized vacuum cleaner, and a stove. But I'm afraid that's as far as I ever got, just a dream!
Hm hm hm...

It's really amazing to see this created!
Like I said before, I LOVE IT!
;oD

That is cool. How long did it take you to make that? Have you thought about making more and selling them? I know I'd be interested in purchasing some if you decide to. Especially if you branch out to other brands or even other models of Maytag.
