Through the years that my partner Dennis and I have been together, we have had a subscription to "Lake Region Life". Usually his family will purchase a subscription as a bday or xmas gift. This is the paper which covers news in Waterville/Elysian Minnesota (SALUTE!). It is fun to get this paper, even though it is about Dennis' hometown and not my own (I was raised in a suburb of Saint Paul, MN). There is never anything in that paper that is remotely controversial or political. Just homey news about who went visiting with who or something about the weather. I find it refreshing to see that one can still purchase a home for under $150,000 (heck-there would be a riot here on Maui if a house was available at twice that price). I do look forward to getting that paper! We get to read about the farm auctions and sometime Dennis will point out a picture of an old classmate. It is a nice way to stay in touch with the home folk.

David,

I subscribe to the Arlington (MN) Enterprise. It too has the same non-controversial type of format. Births, deaths, weddings, auctions etc. I have relatives in that part of MN.
