Here are pictures of the Hoover 704 with the 704-01 handle. I included the in the Hoover vacuum thread but that one is about to go away. The 704 is on the far left.

Thanks for posting your pics of the Hoover 704-01. I have never seen a cord reel on Hoover upright...only Penncrest models. I have a Penncrest with this square cord reel. Jeff Parker has a Penncrest with the round cord reel. I have posted scans of negatives from the Hoover Historical Center that show the 704 with BOTH types of cord reels. I wonder why they switched? The only reason I can think of is cost reduction.
