Actually I would like to point out that if it wasn't for PaulC mentioning Halo non bio I would never of heard of it and to you Chris about the Almat. So I do listen (sometimes).

That's pretty much why we're all here. And the more the merrier. And the fact that you have your own experiences and opinions is great - new knowledge is brilliant and every single member...well, ok member not EVERY single member, but most grounded, open minded members will happilly discuss that with you.

But you can't go about telling people they're wrong. Just because something doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it won't for somebody else. Like shallow rinsing is not the best for you, but others might prefer it. For whatever reason, it works for them.

So instead of saying "I'm not interested in hearing how good shallow rinses are", "no, you're wrong, it doesn't work" and "no, you need to use X detergent in Y machine", maybe...just MAYBE...try discussing it instead of dismssing it. A response like "that's great, I've never found X works well for me, but great that you do" goes a LONG way.

So, lets move on, yes? Leave that where it is and start a fresh.

Don't even get me started on Currys staff. A friend of mine used to work for them. Whenever they put him in the appliances department, he would always recomend Hotpoints because that was the only brand he knew of.

The new Hotpoints are supposed to be better now aren't they?

I had a WMA30 one Aquarius, that was Made in UK and bough from Powerhouse back in 1998 though it had a solid state timer.

Cute cats by the way Aquarius. Have two dogs so animal lover here too. Do you avoid P&G products Rob? Ben

I've heard a lot of good things about the new Hotpoints but yet to experience it first hand. They so seem a lot more solid than the last range. If you have a look through the archives, Darren (who's user name has escaped me) has the current Ultima WD and posted a lot of info about it. He has some video's up too (see link).

The WMA's were the last of the proper Hotpoints before Indesit took over.

To be honest, Bradford isn't as bad as it's made out to be. There are far worse areas to live. The city centre is fine - just like any other, really. But there are certainly a fair few no-go areas. There's certainly areas a white person wouldn't want to walk through, especially alone. But those areas can be pretty easily avoided.

Il be honest,

Im a meat eater - all meat. Ive eaten Veal and enjoyed it with no guilty feelings BUT I dont know where I stand on its ethicals. I dont buy it regularly though and its been years since I last had it.

I dont avidly look at cosmetic labels nor detergent labels.

Im not an animal rights activist and buy what I want to buy detergent wise but I do have pangs of worry about what goes on behind closed doors.

Ive not recently boycott any product due to animal testing or the such and im unsure where I stand with pharmaceutical testing on animals.

I love animals but then I love bacon sarnies and clean washing.

Maybe im a hearltess sod with no morals at all.....

great pets here, my parents, who I still live with btw have 2 lovely cats named Suki & Buckley which are great fun 2 own.

the main point of this thread is this Hoover EcoLogic washer dryer and this model went under different alias throughout it's life, it started as an Electron in 1985 as Hoover's 1st washer dryer with a beige control panel and it was rebranded as Logic in 1987, using the same design, it was updated in 1989 and then it became the EcoLogic in 1991, soldiering on early into the New Wave/Classica run up to @ least Spring 1994. Then of course Candy took over and Hoover wouldn't quite be the same again lol.

The WMA30 wouldn't have been around in 1998. They were introduced in March 2000.

Electron

The first electron was released in 1982 and was a restyled version of the previous range.

1983 the first truly redesigned electrons came out which have flush control panels and exactly match the electron dryers which continued alongside the later electrons, I believe this is when the computer control was released.

1984 saw the energy control series introduced and I presume the washer/dryer was introduced at this time too. The washer/dryer continues it's life as the basic model though the introduction of the logics at the end of 86/87 and right upto the end of the ecologics in around 1994.

yes, they were 3 main series of the Electrons, the 1st range was on the small side because Hoover axed the Keymatic, Selectamatic & Topline models upon their introduction.

when the 2nd series came a year later, they did indeed introduce the 1st Computer Control with a black control panel, but it was changed 2 white later.

the washer dryer debuted with the Series 3 1985 Electron range, there was a main Hoover model alongside an Electric Board exclusive, and was subsequently rebranded Logic when they appeared, but 3 remants of the Electron range carried on as exclusives til about 1991, a round door 800 model, an Electron 1100 model with a grey control panel and a Comet exclusive Computer Control model.
