That one looks earlyish to me, though I don't know the date. It's a rebadged Knapp-Monarch.

Never seen this version. The ones I usually run into are the later models with the plastic bases and the built-in spatula.

We saw a gorgeous light pink Hoover occillating fan at the Brimfield Fair. Never knew they existed. I have seen blenders before.

Hoover Smalls

In the 60's and into the early 70's Hoover dabbled in rebadged, small appliances. Some went out to bid and in the end they settled on a contact with Sunbeam/Oster. The whole line was abandoned as Hoover focused on what they did best, vacuums.
The Hoover, stainless electric buffet skillet, with the keep warm drawer and broiler lid is an amazing skillet. The later blenders, made by Scoville, were all plastic and had a spatula built into the lid.

This particular blender is a re-badged Knapp-Monarch. My Gram had the Kenmore version of this blender. I have three of the later plastic base versions. I have seen this blender only twice before on ebay.

Thanks!

I've just never seen a Hoover blender before, only the can openers.

That's not a bad price for a vintage blender though!

Hoover blenders were made by Knapp Monarch

which bought Hoover bought in 1969. Hoover made small appliances until 1977 when they got out of it because it was unprofitable. Sunbeam Oster never made any Hoover blenders to my knowledge. I called and left a message about this thread for Tom Anderson, our resident Hoover Historian and I am sure he will clear this up and be able to date the blender in no time.

Gary,
You could not have possible gotten a picture. The second I saw the fan some lady pushed me out of the way and grabbed it. You have to move fast at Brimfield.

Hoover Blenders

Sunbeam Oster didn't make a blender for Hoover. By the time the contract with Sunbeam was sealed, blenders were not part of that. Hoover also sold a Ronco Cando.

Okay, I know K-M made the blenders--at least the early ones, and Nesco made the frying pans. Presto for percs.

Who made the later blenders, and who made the fabulous air purifier?

veg

Psssst, Kelly-- Ronson, not Ronco. Ronco made the in-the-shell egg scrambler which, as far as I know, Hoover never sold ;)

Dumb Head!

You are so right Veg. The later blenders were a Scoville product and similar blenders were sold under the label SCM.
