I clean 2500 SF office space with a Kirby G3 (with the delightful Tech Drive), but Nigel, the office cat (who fetches) leaves hair on black sofas. I have been using the Hoover Celebrity QS for this but the cord wants to sneak back in the rewinder, but not all the way. So, like, is this something I can fix myself?

Live with it.

Well, Gee Rocketwarrior, maybe you should just take the thing apart and see what happens. What's the worse that can happen - you have a vac with an unrewould cord. Live with it.

Re: Alternate Suggestion:

Hey! Rocketwarrior, I've placed a Clothes Pin on the Power Cord, right at the opening on the housing of a Cord-Rewind Mechanism, to keep the Cord from Re-Winding when I didn't want it to. This was on an Electrolux that had a Tooth/Gear broken inside and as far as I knew, the Parts are {No Longer Available}, without replacing at a terribly high Price the whole Cord Re-Winder. Hey, at least this works and it was an inexpensive Repair for the need.

Good Luck with whatever you end up doing, it would be interesting to know what you end up doing and what was the cause.

Peace and Good Housekeeping, Steve

Sorry Rw

I thought for sure some of the pros would pipe up.
This won't be much help, but I have examined newer Hoover
cord rewinders, and though not overly complicated they seem to be designed so that you have to replace the entire rewinder
and cord as one unit. An opportunity for Hoover to streamline
it's operations, I guess. I have the predecessor of your QS,
Celebrity 11 Elite. It looks to me like you only have to remove 5 screws to get the assembly off, yours may be the same under all the fanciness. Check with the other Rocketwarrior and see what he thinks!!! :>)
