Hoover Eco-Logic 1200 tripping the electric.

Can anyone please help Iam at my wits end! Our HOOVER ECO-LOGIC 1200 AUTOMATIC keeps tripping the electric. I think have narrowed it down to the motor as when this is disconnected it fills empties and goes through the programme cycle no problem (obviously not actually washing anything) but with the motor connected it trips the RCD. I took the motor off gave it a little clean (dusted) and put brand new carbon brushes in (even though the old ones were hardly worn) and it worked fine for a week approx 24 washes and then it tripped again, took out the motor again checked the brushes all seamed fine put it back on it did 1 full wash and then on the next wash it tripped half way through. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What you've described, I would suggest the motor needs further cleaning, as you say you've given it a light dusting, but even a small amount of carbon dust from the brushes can cause the current leakage to trip the rcd.

What I do is to blast the dust out of the motor with an air gun on the air compressor, I've had great success with this over the years and using a megaohm meter the insulation readings prove how the dust can cause a such a current leakage.

I've no idea if you have access to a compressor or not, but maybe a small locally run garage ( car repairs/tyres etc rather than petrol forcourt) may do this for you, it only takes a 30 seconds.
