Hoover never sold the Saturn spin dryers in the USA. They aren't listed in my vintage parts and service manual nor can find any sales or marketing information on them from the time period.

My guess would be that Hoover must not have felt there was a strong enough market for stand alone spin dryers in the USA/North America. While the early Hoover washer with a wringer (looks like Monitor Aerator) was sold here, the separate washer and spin dryer were not. The only spinner we got was when the Hoover twin tubs were sold. In fact outside of commercial units hydro-extractors (industry name for spin driers) were rarely seen in American homes. Those that did were usually large estates/great homes where wealthy persons had every modern mod-con installed including laundry appliances.

Martha Stewart's estate in Maine, Skylands formerly in the Ford family has an American Motex extractor. A member also managed to nab one as well:

My guess is that American housewives had access to top and even front loading washing machines that were fully automatic long before their British sisters in post-war UK. Thus there was less of a need for a separate spin dryer.

That being said if you can locate one in UK/Europe and see about having it sent across the pond don't see why it won't work. Being a 50hz appliance it will spin about ten percent faster on our 60hz power. How the thing will respond to such use cannot say. Other members have purchased spin dryers made for the European market and reported they ran and or have run fine using a transformer for voltage but not changing the incoming frequency.
