Hi Nathan.
congrats on such a fantastic find there.
When I was a youngster my god mother had one of these in the cellar - exact same model 3226.
didn't see one in the flesh until about a month or so ago........when I saw three!!!!! sorry four keymatics!!!!
a mate in cardiff has 2x3224, 1x3226 and 1x3203 (the last one being the first widebody version). I also got to see a 3224 in action with the door open - fascinating machines that are great fun to watch.
Like Mike says, the bain of people in the UK is the perished door seals. If you discover a source for these, then please let the world know about it and there will be a stampede from the UK. Mike and my Cradiff based mate need four between them and its only the door seal thing which prevents the machines being installed in kitchens.
Once again - congrats. Great to know that another classic Hoover Keymatic has been saved.
Made my morning.
All the best for the restoration.
Paul
p.s I will probably be off line until the end of december. Really hacked off with all these great threads being started.
