Hoover Keymatic Operation

How does the Hoover Keymatic work? For example, why did the Keymatic have a pulsesator? Why couldn't it just tumble the clothes and water instead of spinning the disk on the back? Why did tumbling start on a low water level? Why did the timer stall out during the drain period? Also what is the spring and cable on the drum for next to the clutch?

I find this to be such a unique and fascinating machine with design choices that peak my curiosity.

Search function is giving me minimal results in relative comparison. I still don't know why they went with a pulsator instead of plain rotation.

Which as I stated the search function is limited. It is showing me pictures but not intimate operational details.

Any owner can answer my questions within a few sentences as I frequently do when it comes to my knowledge of US machines.

If education consisted solely of DIY "find it yourself" then we wouldn't need teachers, mentors, professors or the institutions which employee them.

Personally I'd like to see one of these machines with a 20 minute wash on normal, and of course heated to a good temperature. I think they had potential.
