Well not content with clocking up loads of miles between London, Cambridge and Wiltshire over the weekend, I managed to pick up this Spinarinse from Northampton on Monday. I've been after one of these for a while after our next door neighbour used to use one - she had to wrap a cloth round the outlet spout as it used to leak. Unfortunately it's not working although I've not done the basic check of making sure the fuse is ok!

The workings. You will see that the rubber outlet pipe is totally perished so will need replacing. Also there is a tell tale ring marking the interior of the casing which probably indicates a leak on the pump. There is a lot of old mouse poo inside the casing so I think it's been a home to a couple at some point!

Has anyone got any service information for this that they would be willing to share? I think I know what to do but it makes all the difference having a guide to go by

Steve :)

Hoover SpinaRinse

Well done Steve on saving another classic, as Al says built like a tank, a little restricted to get to as the base has a very good chassis, but once released and swung to the side its easy to work on!! The grey model was the one my nan had, it was called the "Hoover 55" as it was on special offer from "Critchleys Hoover Centre" at the price of - you guessed it £55 guineas...
