Recently picked up a Hoover Twin Tub at my local Good Will. I didn't know that these were sold in the states. Anyways got it home and had a look at it. It's in reasonably good shape. The wash motor works and the spin motor works, but the drain pump was seized. I took it out and cracked it open. There was a lot of sediment in it. It seems to turn a little bit now. Is this rebuildable, or where could I look for a new one. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Cameron

Have you tried

soaking the parts in vinegar to loosen up the corrosion and sediments? I no longer have my Hoover 0611, but when I first got it (second hand), the pump was also in rather bad shape. However, it cleaned up nicely and after lubing it a bit, worked beautifully.

One thing to note, Hoover pumps are notorious for leaking around the joint where the two halves fit together. I ended up resorting to caulking completely around the joint, as the O-ring just didn't seem to be enough.

Good luck, Cameron! Hope it all works out. Parts are next to impossible to find in Canada or the U.S., with the exception of the U.K. and Australia.

Think one had one of those pumps

In one's stash but sold it off to a member.

Think have one or two spare of the older pumps but had always maintained keeping them as back up units for my TT. Though for the use that machine gets the current pump may last the duration. However it was a NOS pump to replace the one which came with the machine as it was shot

Hoover TT's had a infamous weak spot, their pumps. You can try hunting around including Oz and UK or EU eBay sites or washing machine spares for another. Though by this time they are becoming very hard to find NOS. After Hoover ceased UK production over the years spares began to run out. Every now and then someone will come upon a shop or repair person that has a (forgotten) stash, but again as time goes on things are looking grim.

Great thing about Hoover TT pumps is they ran off a belt, so it didn't matter about the power source. Long as the motor ran so would the pump assembly. This means where ever you are able to find a pump for your machine from Scotland to Sydney it should work.
