Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

thanks Mike

Hi Mike , yeah my boot was turqoise and had turned to a crispy goo! The machine has not been tried therefore with water , but i ran it on the spin cycle. It tumbles normally the when the motor reverses and tries to spin the spin pulley on the back of the drum slips and shrieks so loudly i switch it off after a second or two ( in case it harms itself) I have removed both pulleys and cleaned the small rollers and springs (they are now oil and grease free, not sure if they should be but Darren from Licoln said this was best) i think the rollers perhaps have worn down and you said last time they need small shims to lift it closer to the pulley. I have not done anymore to it. I have 2 or 3 things to finish off he he. Its all back together sitting under neath bubble wrap keeping my Mams ( nearly vintage) 1989 Hotpoint 9544 company (its her only machine and still works the same)
You day looked fab, great to see the Hoover dish washer and keymatic whirling away fine.

Thanks again

Richard

Fantastic!

I really think it's great to see how everyone's collections are going, and seeing the machines run, also great to see the gatherings expanding guest wise too!

Lovely to see the Bendix, my grandma had an earlier, single dial version, that huge door certainly gives them a presence! And the Auto-Jet is fantastic, I'd expected the racks to spin at the same rate as a modern spray arm, but I suppose it wouldn't do to have madam's Wedgwood catapulted round the cabinet!

Mike, what a beautiful award! I'm sure you must have been extremely moved by Our Lady of the Boiling Pulsator, if ones makes a sacrifice to her will she permit tangle-free washing?

Paul/Matt, great to see the 3234H all smartened up, still in awe of that one! And the Topline too - as an aside, I was reading over the service information, and that mystery button does indeed appear to be rinse/hold.

And it's a real thrill to see a live and pulsating Keymatic! Matt, was this a recent find? Good to see a 3226 over here. The turnover is incredibly impressive, very much like the other Hoover pulsator machines. So nice to see such a fab bit of engineering work so well! I wonder how much it would cost to have a batch of boots casted, I know that having small batches of rubber components made up is common among owners of more obscure old cars. Certainly seems to be the only thing holding several slope fronters back!

On behalf of Mike

It was the Bendix that was on ebay week before last ending on the weekend while we were all there. Mike went over the very next day to collect it, hardly surprising really, especially as it was located in an area familiar to (matchbox)Paul so he had a ready navigator. We were all so excited I think we would have gone over with a wheel barrow to collect it LOLOLOL. Unfortunatly I did not take any footage of it

Great to see all the further pictures uploaded! Was especially nice to see the Autojet, I missed that unfortunately but great to see the film so thanks Al.

I was very impressed with the Keymatic - as with everybody else I was fascinated by it and has definitely got to be one of the best wash actions I have seen on any washer - really does move the laundry well and you can see why it only needed 4 minutes of wash time.

The Bendix was indeed a source of major excitement over the weekend - I have a couple of videos of it which I shall upload to youtube when I have a chance in the next couple of days :-).

All the best,

Jon

Edit - videos being uploaded onto Youtube as I speak.

Cool seeing that Keymatic in action. My family had once a 3224, but sadly it broke. I never saw it wash with open door. It was the timer that broke so the machine was searching for the programs to no avial.

WOW... a Wash-In in Chester??

And Mike, you didn't even invite ME??? Hmmphf! LOL

Yes I'm a few days late to the party here but I wanted to say CONGRATS! It looks like it was a lot of fun and just a wonderful time for all! Very neat machines, especially the Keymatic!

Mike I will be expecting an invitation the next time you have one!!! LOL

All the best to you!
Kevin

Hi Louis, i know what you mean about etting these working, so much stuff in there, this one of Mathews has been a long time in rehab!!!

Leon, would be great to see you here, what with Servis & hoover keymatics, no time for anything else!!, the orange kenwood looks stunning in Neils 70`s kitchen!!!

Richard, yes turquoise gloop indeed, would be good to be able to get your machine, (as well as my 3224) working, the knowledge sharing is great, its looks so daunting doing it yourself, ( had a phone call from Darren C which started, you looked like a big bunch of kids having all that fun!!!...LOl)

Simon, the award stays!!! I forgot about it and had a business meeting and could see people staring at something and turned round to see her!!! you should have seen the one left at residaunce Danks by person unknown!!!

Phil, yes it was the same Bendix, we won it late sunday night and me and matchbox paul set off very early so the lads could see it on their last day!!! heres a pic with the earlier dryer!!!

Jon, glad you enjoyed the Bendix along with the other machines!!and the great thing was you came with sooooo much of your own laundry that we didnt need to wash stuff twice which we usually do!!!

Tom, more vids to follow!!! so quiet in operation, was the one you saw working your family machine??

Richard, yes, next one, get yourself here!!

Frederick, the open door is an optical illusion in case the washer police are looking!!!
