As I really like samsungfl´s machine I would like to know more about Hoover.
In what I´m intrested in, is the quality of today´s Hoover Machines.
In Germany Hoover isn´t a common´ brand, so I don´t know much about it.

All the best, Nino!

Hoover,
One of my favourite brands, I have to pre take over hoovers, a hoover logic 1300 and a hoover newwave 1400. Both these machines are in my Top 5 of alltime!

I've had a couple of post take over hoovers! They were good but not the orginal thing, but from what i've seen of the new vision models, they're starting to pick up abit!

Darren

Heres a pic of my logic

Hoover...

...according to WHICH? Magazine (UK Consumer Association), consistently comes at the bottom of the reliability table for virtually all their goods. (And that is odd, as the Candy washer brand was usually average-good for reliablity; and since Hoover machines are Candy by another name, you would expect Hoovers to become more reliable.

Another brand which also comes bottom, is Hotpoint.

I'm more inclined to think that popular brands have a much larger user-base, and as such, this increases the potential for various breakdowns.

I am a fan of Hoover machines, but their quality has diminished, and their availability of technical data to Joe Public, has dried up (you used to be able to purchase the "HOOVER SERVICE DATA MANUAL", which had exploded diagrams and parts listings for a particular year).

Candy Crap!!!

I bought a Candy condensor dryer and returned it 5 weeks later. The condenser got corroded within a few weeks and it was extremely noisy.

Saying that, my friend has bought a Hoover Vision and I am looking forward to seeing how it performs. As they are a 2 person family, it will be a chance for the washer to perform to an average standard. I'll let you all know how things go with it.

I also have a Hoover vacuum "Pets and stairs" that I have had to have the engineers out twice as the foot pedal has gone and the pets and stairs remote brush thing has split due to poor quality. Not good compared to what us UK customers were used to in the past!

Their quality has DEFINITELY diminished over the past years, sadly!

The only one's to keep their "quality" badge seems to be AEG, Zanussi, Tricity Bendix, Electrolux and Miele.... Sad, really

haha...

I don´t think that AEG kept their quality.
My 2,5 years old AEG Lavamat 78800 has a drum bearing failure and I´m looking forward to get a new washer.

good luck Lavamat

Compared to my experience of uk machines... coming from the UK, I have my opinion.... as you are entitled to yours!

The only one's to keep their "quality" badge s

I disagree with this statement too! I've just had to part with my Zanussi washer which is only JUST over 1 year old!! The quality of Electrolux products seem to be going down hill which is a big shame!

Mine in particular was quite a bad performer to in some aspects as well as being unreliable!

Hey,

I really had good experiences with the Lavamat 78800, it´s washing very clean, rinsing well, spinning super dry!
My machine is running 14 loads a week, since 4th Feburary 2005.
It has been running for 2058 hours.

Hey, Samsungfl, you told that the outer washtub of your Zanussi cracked?
How could this happen?

Hey, Well the Zanussi had been playing up alot a few weeks previous to this happening, used to go CRAZY on spin, then the motor started to fail :S

I think because the outer tub kept on being violently smashed into the cabinet of the machine due to it spinning of off balance ended up making it crack!

Zanussi

I've not seen a reliable new Zanussi lately either. Two people work for have had recent models and one failed within a few weeks and the other has decided to bash itself to bits when spinning after 3 months use. I hope they are not slipping on quality control in the factory.

Steve

Zanussi :(

I think they are! When mine was approaching a year old it started to act weirdly! The balance control on the machine seemed to have just gave up which I think is what did the most damage! I thought It would either be that or the fact the motor was sparking like mad all the time that would make the machine a write-off!!

Richard

Heehee yea that was fun!

Everytime my rents go to our other place in spain, they'd go for two months at a time and i would move a machine Into the utility, jon and i decided to recreat a hoover brochure shot lol:D

Zanussi Washing machines

I have a Zanussi XC washing machine from 2001 and that is still going strong after 6 years, it might be just the new zanussi machines that are rubbish :)

Zanussi

I have a Zanussi Z9191T from 1984 which is heading for 24 years old and runs as good as new. I think we can safely say the older the machine the longer it will last!

I Agree

Yeah i think the XC Zanussi machines seem to last quite well, the new ones just dont seem to be able to cut it anymore, Is it just me or does everyone else think a machine should last longer than a 1year without having to be written off!LOL!
Zanussi refused to fix the machine!

Richard

hotpoint

I'm thinking about getting a hotpoint Ultima WT960 like what darren has but in white, i fancy a change of machine, love the distribution rinses and how quiet they are
